Title: Beastly Laptop

Yes, I would recommend this product
I am going to college this year and wanted a computer that was high performance. When I thought of high performance, I thought of Alienware. When I went on the website and found out about the new design, I was pretty pleased.
I saw that the weight was over six pounds, but I figured for the specs I could obtain it wasn't going to be that big of a deal. My laptop shipped early, which I was happy about. The only minor defect (or what I think is a defect, maybe not) was that the specs printed on the bottom said NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750M (the base model graphics) instead of what I ordered, which was the upgraded version. Fortunately, the hardware I ordered was inside so I quickly dismissed the misprint.
Upon using the laptop, I was very pleased with the AlienFX. I think the customizing options are awesome and I really like the new LEDs. For me, the design of the Aliewnare was something that drew me to it. I couldn't find anything else on the market that had the same design as the Alienware. Sure, I may have paid a little bit more into that design than others have but I got a great laptop with great specs and a design that trumps the competition. For gaming, I like to play Company of Heroes 2. I can't max out on the game, which disappoints a bit, but I read reports that said it could be because of driver issues not allowing the video cards to perform to full potential. Even so, playing COH2 on this is much better than using my desktop.
I'm a bit skeptical about taking this to class while at college but I don't think it will be a big deal. I think the design will warrant mostly positive attention and carrying around six pounds shouldn't be a problem if you have any kind of strength.
All in all, I think this laptop has a great build quality and definitely a superior design. The value isn't the greatest for the specs themselves but I think the design and build quality merits the higher price. If you want a laptop that will catch someone's eye and make them say "Wow, look at that!" then I would definitely recommend this one. It's a great size screen, the lights are awesome, and you'll be able to do some great gaming.
Pros:alienfx, performance, keyboard, customizations when purchasing, beautiful screen
Cons:value for specs, on the heavy side for today's market
