Title: Great business class system
PostedNovember 12, 2012
Yes, I would recommend this product
We have started converting all of our machines over from scratch built boxes to pre-built OptiPlex's. As an IT professional I cannot stress how important standardization is for our infrastructure. These OptiPlex's are pretty much what I have come to expect from Dell's business line; simple, quiet, and easy to maintain. I know that if I have an issue with our new 3010's (and I have not yet had any) I can easily fix whatever is going on, even after the warranty period. The default of Win7 Home is indeed odd, but since I am customizing my machines anyway, who cares? Win7 Home >can< be used in a small business environment; not every business needs a domain. But the cost increase to Win7 Pro is negligible, so I don't blame them for listing Win7 Home as the default. All in all, the 3010 is a solid, robust yet simple machine. The ability for the onboard video to handle dual monitors is a huge plus as well.
