Title: Great machine, internal layout just ok
Posted3 July, 2012
Yes, I would recommend this product
Great machine, fast ivy bridge architecture, love the 32 GIG ram capacity. Will allow many virtual machines.
Only thing that made this 4 instead of 5 stars was the internal layout of the drive bays.
There are two 3.5 inch bays on the bottom front that open to the side and these are great. They should have added one or two more like this and it would be perfect.
There are two 5.25 inch bays at the top front like all PCs. The top had the DVD, which is fine. The lower bay is the problem. You cannot get a full 5.25 inch drive in without moving the power supply, which is not worth the bother. I was able to get a 3.5 inch drive in that slot and screw it to the side , but it does vibrate a bit annoyingly with only two screws. You can get rails to turn a 3.5 into a 5.25 form factor, but with the rails, you v=cannot get the drive into that slot without moving the power supply.
So to make it five starts , just add a couple 3.5 slots next to the ones you have and we can use that and ignore the 5.25 slots.
