Title: Solid machine, great price
PostedNovember 14, 2012
Yes, I would recommend this product
Hardware is amazing for the price, really good performing regardless of the OS.
The only reason why I am not giving it 5 stars is due to the fact that the first recommended update to pre-installed Ubuntu 11.10 messes up display driver (flashing green lines on top of the screen after update and reboot). Had to rollback using recovery media and then de-select kernel and xorg packages before update to avoid issue repeating itself.

Title: Locked .. no thank you
PostedFebruary 23, 2011
No, I do not recommend this product.
Why sell this thing locked to Rogers when it's being sold at full price?
On the other hand, nice that it's finally upgraded to 2.2.

Title: Excellent Laptop + available with Linux
PostedMarch 4, 2010
Yes, I would recommend this product
First, thank you Dell for enabling me to order this laptop with Ubuntu preloaded as I have no need for Windows.
This is one great looking laptop. Thin, light, great screen, solid keyboard.
Performance (with Celeron M CPU) is way better than any Atom based laptop/netbook. Upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 with no issues.
The only week point is support for large external monitors, Intel GPU is having a hard time with anything over 1280x1024.
Pros:software development, Presentation, office applications
