No, I do not recommend this product.
This e-reader does not work with Kobo because it does not work with write protected books!!! It seems to work with Google book. It has a short batery life when Wifi on, would certainly need improvement there. I had to push the reset button twice because the unit would not start after having been on the charger for a couple of hours. Basically, not recommend to any one, if you want an ereader buy the Kobo Vox!!! My Hip Street will be going to the recycling been as soon as I get my Kobo Vox in the mail.
Pros:travel ereader

Yes, I would recommend this product
Pros
I was thinking of (and still am) saving up for a tablet, however I needed something sooner to use for my morning commute. So far this has been great to use for both day and the night reading. The cables that it comes with are *very* short, but thankfully it uses a mini USB adapter, so I had other cables I could use for PC top reader transfers. It reads off of my SD card pretty quickly and I haven't had any issues with the functionality that it is supposed to provide. I've used it for viewing videos and litening to music and other than a bit of a hiccup that happens when you're just starting the clips of media, once it's buffered and playing, there are usually no further issues.
Cons
Unfortunately, I still look forward to the day when I can buy my tablet, since the battery life on this is pretty bad (especially for an eBook reader!). Considering that I mainly use it for reading PDF eBooks, I was hoping it would last for more than just a few hours. Even in standby mode, it doesn't last for more than about 5 hrs. I initially thought it was something I was doing, but after a reset and removal of all my added stuff, I realized that it's just the way the reader works. This means that if you plan to be away from the reader for more than about half an hour, you should probably power down the whole thing - not go into standby.
Pros:commuting, before bed reading, long distance trips
