No, I do not recommend this product.
I purchased for my son to take on a military deployment. It worked 2 weeks, then quit. I have checked other websites for reviews and found out that my experience is very common. It is under the manufacture's warranty (not Dell's). I am not happy with the customer service received from Dell or Western Digital.

Yes, I would recommend this product
I've used a ton of various types of USB and network attached storage media. Most come with some short coming that just makes it less worth the effort and the cost. Finally I wasn't disappointed.
Large storage capacity, low foot print, amazingly easy install, the media server portions actually work, and the little bells and whistles like remote access and email status of drive issues are just great.
I've moved all my torrents, my iTunes, and all the files I need handy on any machine in the house onto three of these devices. I'm sure I'll need more in the future. Everything on the network interfaces easily with the media servers (xBox, Boxee Box, PS3, other PCs running iTunes.)

Yes, I would recommend this product
This is a great hard drive. Easy to use, Easy to install, and lots of space. The only thing I could find that would make it better would be to make it easier to see exactly what files are on the drive itself.

Yes, I would recommend this product
Was easy to setup, came with everything needed. Windows basically handled everything, and even had a simple path to hook in older XP systems. Large amount of storage for a low price. Would buy again!

Yes, I would recommend this product
Easy setup and was very easy to get running with my Macbook Pro. I can do backups for all my devices through this drive and it works great as network storage.
The only thing that doesn't seem to work right is getting access outside of the network through the MIO net that western digital has.

Yes, I would recommend this product
This is one of the better NAS out there! Setup was a breeze, and only took about 5 minutes till I was up and running.
I was able to navigate quickly through the start up disc that comes with it, and was backing up my devices all in a blink of an eye.
Western Digital has always had great products and a great user community to support one another. And this NAS is no different. The part that I like best is that it's small and compact and the desktop icon has a "Percentage used" and a temperature feature, letting you know if the NAS is too hot or what not.
Highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to back up files and needs sufficent space. Also want to mention that I transfered close to 1.5 TB worth of media to the NAS on the first try and it didn't drop one file. And the total process only took close to 4 hours. Which is INCREDIBLE for the amount of data that was being moved over.
Again, HIGHLY recommend this NAS and just about anything that Western Digital comes up with. You always know quality is guarenteed.
