Title:

Top Notch for entry level DSLR

PostedJuly 15, 2012
Yes, I would recommend this product
I used a Canon PowerShot for the last five years and created some excellent quality photographs. I decided to move to the next level when it quit working recently. Moving up to the T3i has been an awesome experience! Many of the buttons and setting are similar to the PowerShot, but the quality of the photos are far superior. Being able to adjust things like ISO on the fly gives you much more incentive to step away from 'auto' and get creative. Also, while you are learning, the basic and creative modes allow for all sorts great auto/semi-auto settings to create stunning photographs in almost any setting.
Pros:nature photography, animal video, indoor/outdoor family

Title:

Great lens packaged with a terrific camera body.

Yes, I would recommend this product
I purchased the T3i with the intent on using it primarily as a video camera. And for that purpose it works very well.
I also have a Canon 7D, which is a similar camera and is also more expensive. The 7D has more features, but when it comes down to comparing photographs and video, there is little perceptible (if any) difference in quality, making the T3i the better value.
I've done a few hours worth of video with the T3i and it's great, though I did experience overheating when using it in direct sunlight. Obviously the main intent of the T3i is still photography, so I can't fault the camera for a video problem like that.
For ease of moving files from my camera to computer, the SD card format is terrific since I have an SD card slot on my computer.
The 18-135mm lens included in this package is one of the best walking-around lenses you can get for this camera. It's not bulky, like a superzoom, and covers most of the range the average photographer is going to desire.
Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this lens and body.
