Yes, I would recommend this product
I purchased this drive because of the USB 3 interface (which I have on my motherboard) and the great deal I got at Dell.com. Works well so far on several PCs and my Macbook Pro at USB 2 and it SCREAMS on my PC with USB 3.
I highly recommend it.

Easy to use backup

Yes, I would recommend this product
I attached this device to my computer for use as a backup drive to the main computer c:\ drive. At 500GB, it has enough space to keep that info clean & secure and not need to be replaced anytime soon. Upon attaching this drive, installation was automatic! The drive hardware/software was installed by Window 7 and the backup drive's startup menu appeared. After selecting that I wanted to use it as a backup drive only, Windows 7 & this drive went to work. I haven't needed to adjust anything since installation! That is what I call - easy to use!
