Yes, I would recommend this product
After owning and enjoying the Pentax K-7, I decided to upgrade to the K-5, based on the improved low light performance and image quality. I'm very glad I did.
The image quality is definitely better, images are sharper, the menu is very user friendly, and the live view screen is great. The low light performance isn't just improved, it's night and day. Where I used to see noise at ISO 800, I can now comfortably shoot ISO 3200 without worry of unusable photos due to unattractive grain.
Ergonomically, it's similar to the K-7, but feels even more compact, yet comfortable to shoot. Barring a huge lens attached, this camera, coupled with a great Pentax pancake lens feels close to carrying around a fancy point and shoot. While you can't stick it in your pocket, your neck will be happy at the end of a long day.
It's a shame Dell doesn't offer Pentax anymore, because this camera ranks among the very best of the current crop of APS-C dslr cameras on the market. Their lenses are nice too. Although, Pentax hasn't done themselves any favors with their other offerings, as well as raising their lenses to ridiculously high prices.
Whether Pentax continues to exist or ends up focusing their energies to products people ultimately don't want to buy, the K-5 is a home run. An excellent camera at an excellent value. I'm very pleased with mine.
