2 Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Card

Yes, I would recommend this product
It Works fine. I expected installation to be easier. They give you a adaption harness. You have to get into the machine and fine the wires that match. A power extension is available left for the purpose. Then you must adapt the connection. Close everything up and let it 'fly'.
Pros:connect to external storage

Power Connection Problem

PostedAugust 11, 2011
Yes, I would recommend this product
The card seems to work great with my USB 3 external drive that has its own power supply. (I assume I'm getting full USB 3 transfer rates, even though I can't plug in the additional power cable.) The cord that Belkin provides is of no use here. That's the reason for my 4 star rating.
The problem is that the card has a Molex female connector on it for additionl power input. Newer Dells (mine is an XPS 8100) have only SATA male power connectors available. I haven't located an adapter anywhere at this point.
Dell- what is the solution for us here?
Pros:data backup

Much faster than USB 2.0

PostedMay 22, 2011
Yes, I would recommend this product
The Belkin USB 3.0 is an excellent upgrade to any PC. My backup USB 3.0 compliant hard drive now runs several times faster than before. However this kit uses the older Molex power connector. That's great if you own an older PC, however my new Dell XPS 8300 doesn't have a Molex connection, so while the USB 3.0 functions for data, it does not have the ability to power anything connected to it. It still works for my external hard drive because it already has it's own power supply, but other users may be let down.
Set up was easy and glitch free. The connection has come loose one or twice, but I am glad the upgrade went so smoothly. While I regret the power issue, the USB 3.0 functions exactly as I thought. Speed is dramatically faster when compared to 2.0. Backups now take seconds instead of minutes.
