easy to use, nice graphic, free 300mb memory for photos (about 50), support extra memory card and with the price below 50$ what can I complain? bought 3 of them, gave 2 to my friends

Aluratek Photo Frame - Bad Product

No, I do not recommend this product.
I purchased this photo frame from Dell after my many purchases like laptops,cameras,memory cards etc which are working very good, however, this product gave performance completely opposite to my previous purchases. Moreover, Dell customer care gave the justification of cons as "This is not a Dell product".

Cons:
1) No internal memory even though Dell site propagates it as "512MB internal memory"
2) Buzzing sound from Adapter
3) Calendar gets reset to factory settings every time product is swtiched off
4) Poor picture quality

overall it is a very good quality product. picture resolution is very good. video play smoothly, build-in speaker is loud enough for enjoyment. move around menu are not the easiest on earth. need sometime to get use to. the thing that trouble a lot is the remote control, reception is very poor, not responsive most of the time. that's the only thing really take the last star out from the rating.

No, I do not recommend this product.
I got this one 20 days ago, it was on sale.
It is a good product with a 512MB memory, but
1- it is lacking an important feature, the built-in battery.
It needs to be plugged in to work.
2- the power adapter is making a buzzing noise, i reported that to Customer Service, they sent me a new one and guess what! it is buzzing too.
I tried it in different outlets, i tried to combine the two items that i received, nothing worked, still buzzing.
I will live with it since it is a Gift...

Yes, I would recommend this product
Good resolution for a 8" frame, pictures look very good with no lines visable like some of the very cheap ones. Good price as well when on sale. I like the fact that when you turn it on it just resumes the slideshow, no other buttons to press. I use this on my desk at work for pictures and is perfect for that application.
I would recommmend this frame for sure, just watch for it to come on sale at here at Dell.

I purchased this item for my children's Grandparents. We loaded all the pictures and re-packaged the item. Whne they opened it they had a great surprise. We've heard nothing but great reviews from their friends. I would highly recommend this to everyone

Item works well, nice colors. One issue with it is that it often does not launch into auto play. When this occurs you need to depress the Play button often to get it to launch. Hopefully this is a flaw with my particular unit and not all of this product.

I was suprised at first by the size of the screen. Its big bright and colorfull.
I like the fact that it has all the standard stuff plus the built in 512mb of storage.

I got a great price during Dell Days of Deals ($49.99) for the price I'm satisfied.
Pros: Good picture quality, video and sound are a bonus.
Cons: If you don't use the remote you have to get finger prints all over the frame because all the controls are at the back of the unit. It doesn't auto-rotate pictures. You need a computer to load pictures on it if you don't use an external memory card.

Overall the item was a pretty good purchase. Although the name brand isn't very well known, it still performs quite well. There were actually more features on this frame than I expected... The only downside would be the 512MB drive(which is really more like a 430MB). For the money I spent, this 8" frame is worth the purchase. Thanks Dell for another good item.

No, I do not recommend this product.
Cheep ($50 Christmas 2009), good resolution (800x600), Video works fine, Audio on any of these small devices is lousy because you can't squeeze in good speakers, but most importantly, the interface is not intuitive and USB connection to the computer is temperamental.
I shop at DELL because I was hoping they would vet their products for quality, but this one may have been sold through DELL weighted to the cost savings; not quality. I'll have to be a bit more selective when shopping at DELL, but as always, the shopping experience at DELL was excellent.

Yes, I would recommend this product
The Aluratek photo frame is a good basic photo frame. The most important aspect, image quality, is very good, with brightness and contrast adjust.
The user interface however is somewhat awkward and not very intuitive. You need a PC to copy, delete and resize files. There is a "favorites" menu (which I do not understand the purpose) that gives me a "decode error" message even after a factory default. But I can anyways display all the images from either internal memory or an SD card so no complain when everything is configured.
Finally, the user guide does not gives a lot of information and you should play with the menus to understand the photo frame.
In conclusion, if you can manage the average user interface and are not afraid to use your PC for files transfer, that photo frame is nice with a good display.

bought as christmas gift for bf... resolution is great, flexible enough to play his pics/background music... easy to load on to SD card from his computer ... only downfall was the battery for the remote is dead (we think) so haven't been able to test that part... was on sale so good value for the price
