Great performance, but the battery life.....
PostedFebruary 24, 2013
No, I do not recommend this product.
The MX performance mouse has great features, is responsive, and comfortable to hold. That being said, there is one annoying flaw. The battery life is awful. You need to recharge this thing every day or two. If you are a gamer, you might be used to this . Casual users are not. Granted you can use the mouse while it is charging. But who wants to fumble with that USB cord every day?I also don't like the matte finish, as it wears off at the scroll wheel. I've decided to shelve this mouse, and get something different.
Pros:good performance
Cons:bad battery life

Performance Mouse MX is great!

I recently developed arthritis in my thumb joint and have had difficulty using a mouse. This is not a good thing as I am in the middle of completing my Masters degree and all of my classes are online.
This is the best mouse I have ever used and does not cause pain in my hand like a traditional mouse does. The thumb rest is what makes this mouse so easy to use. Not having my thumb dangling in the air allows me to use the mouse longer and to complete my computer work with little to no pain.
Pros:computer work, online classes

mouse works great

This mouse is wonderful. I have had other logitech mice in the past mostly high end gaming corded mice. This on has enough response time to do any task and gaming as well. The mouse also holds its charge for a very long time. the only thing that took some time getting used to was the scroll wheel, there are 2 functions for it.
I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, it so smooths that it feel like a second hand

I have had this mouse for about 2 years. It has been very reliable. The battery lasts for days of use and it works on more surfaces than any other mouse I have owned.

Great Mouse

Very pleased with this wireless mouse. Works great and the charge lasts for several days. Had a prior version that had a docking station for charging-this one has a USB shaped charger at the end of a wire so it takes up no real estate.

awesome mouse

Bought this mouse for my Alienware laptop and was not disappointed. Works like a dream. Had no problems installing the software and plugging the usb adapter in was really all you need to do. The software is just if you would like to tweak it up little bit. As far as putting it on any surface, yes it will work on any surface, I use it on my lazyboy chair without a mousepad and it doesn't loose a beat. Just a great mouse. The buttons are all really easy to use and kinda fun to use. I have a Razer Mamba mouse for playing pc games and it doesn't do all the things this mouse can do. I highly recommend this mouse.

Very decent mouse

I have large hands and needed a large mouse. This mouse glides smoothly and my hand is comfortable using it. I agree with all the positive points that the previous two reviewers mentioned, so I won't repeat it here. However, one nifty feature that I want to point out is that when the battery is low, the battery indicator light turns red (it's normally green), making it easy to figure out when it is time to charge the single AA battery. With the included usb charger, the battery is fully recharged within 2 or 3 hours. You can use the mouse while it is being charged. You have the option to replace the AA battery so that you can use your battery charger or leave the battery in the mouse to charge. The mouse lasts about 2 weeks on a single charge and I use the mouse every day!

Excellent Product!!!

This is the best mouse I have bought so far. It fits perfectly in my hand and is very smooth. All the extra feature buttons are very helpful for faster navigation. The laser doesn't miss a beat as the pointer just glides across the screen effortlessly. My favorite feature about this mouse is the new design of the scroll button. It has a smooth scroll now that's so easy to use that just with the flick of the finger you can be at the bottom of a 200 page window in 4 seconds flat. I recommend the Dell Performance Mouse MX-MSRP to all frequent mouse users everywhere and hope you enjoy the same experience as I do!

Title:
Great mouse, but could be better
PostedOctober 8, 2009
Yes, I would recommend this product
The Logitech Performance Mouse MX is a high quality mouse and there's no doubt about it. First of all, it works great on every surface I've tested it thus far. It has a good feel to it, not too heavy, and contrary to a review I read on another website, is not too small, which is the farthest thing from the truth. It fits almost perfectly under my hand.
I really like the fast scroll feature, that gives you the option to press the button just under the scroller, and then by a strong pull of it the scroller turns very fast, almost freely, so you can reach the end of very long documents/web pages fast. It didn't sound like something I'd use much often at first, but I realized very fast that it's the feature I use the most.
You also get some useful buttons for your thumb (note that this is a right-handed mouse), so you can zoom in and out, go back or forth (in a browser for example), and other features (you can program the buttons with the supplied software, but as I run on Linux and it's Windows only, I wouldn't know and wouldn't care how it works).
As to the design of the mouse, first of all it's a good looking mouse. I'm not sure if the design of the whole thumb area makes it more comfortable or not, 'cause frankly I don't feel any difference.
There are some cons to this mouse though. Like any other mouse, the scroller is also the middle button, but the mouse doesn't always respond to me clicking it. After a few moments of frustration I found that I need to click it in a certain angle, and I'm used to it by now and pretty much never miss a click (except a few times here or there).
The fast/normal scroll toggle button that I mentioned earlier isn't positioned so good. Maybe it's the "logical" position (just below the scroller), but I don't like feeling it under my index finger all the time, and sometimes when I try to click with the back of my index finger (well why not if it's already under it) I end up click the left button. Most of the times when I click it, also, the scroller makes a small scroll to the bottom. Doesn't bother me, but I thought I should mention.
My biggest problem, however, is with the unified receiver. I also bought the Logitech Wave K350 keyboard, who also has a unified receiver, and they refuse to work together on one receiver. The mouse would only work with it's receiver and the keyboard with it's, although they the same.
