Only use for surrond, not music! Please read!

No, I do not recommend this product.
If you are using these for home theater, your fine, BUT..if you listen to music with these and like volume you are in for a surprise. I was using them for 25 minutes and the tweeters blew on both speakers. I have a pair of really old floor speakers, 24 years old and they are cheap technics from a stereo set from the late 80’s. Basically junk but they can handle volume. I do listen to music loud in our house and wanted new speakers for Christmas. Unpacked them and used them for 25 minutes and they couldn’t handle it. They are beautiful speakers and sound incredible, but not for solid music use. ONLY USE FOR SUROUND OR LOWER VOLUME MUSIC. Dell was very helpful with the return and if they actually have loud speakers I would buy again.

Yes, I would recommend this product
These are some of the best sounding speakers I have ever had the joy of listening too. Listening to (And watching) "Kansas: There's Know Place Like Home" on Blue-ray in 7.1 surround sound with these up front was so awesome it brought tears to my eyes.
Pros: Great sound, piano finish, Yamaha Quality.
Cons: Now I need to upgrade other speakers in my system to Yamaha NS series for better voice matching. You can clearly hear the difference in quality compared against other speakers.

Great sounding speakers for music

Yes, I would recommend this product
I considder myself very picky when it comes to listening to music on a stero system. I have Yamaha RX-V863 receiver that I am using to drive these speakers (not using b-amp mode - I still want 7.1 surround) and the music reproduction is excellent. I let the reveiver do its YPAO thing set at FLAT mode and I am very pleased with the standalone (no subwoofer active) bass capabilities of these speakers. Yamaha says these were designed for home theater use, but they work extremely well for stereo music also.
Make sure your receiver is set up properly so it doesn't re-route the lower frequencys (30hz-200hz) to the subwoofer; Yamaha - front speakers should be set to large, and 6ohms impedance if all speakers are Yamaha - double check speaker impedance.

Bigger and Better than expected

Yes, I would recommend this product
I miss-read and foolishly purchased one thinking they were sold as a set so I had a few days to compare while I waited for the other to arrive. Comparing to the TSi/400 and AR S-40s these are simply amazing. Such a clear sound from these. I was worried they were going to be a bit boomy given they are 8" over my previous 5.125" and 6" but not so. The sound is so crisp, I keep waiting for the catch. Even powered by Yamahas lower end RX-V765 these are a terrific all around value. I can now truely hear the difference between CD/DVD and a reproduction.

One word- WOW! These speakers look great and sound even better. Excellent clarity and sound reproduction. Music sounds clean and true. Home theater performance is over the top. Bass is very powerful. You could get by without a sub if you're pressed for funds.

Yes, I would recommend this product
these speakers are the shxx if you like movies or music on loud then dont miss out. they are spendy and yes you need two, but the sound is uncomparable. bi-wire these piano finish babies and enjoy.
