Excellent printer for the price
PostedMarch 24, 2010
Yes, I would recommend this product
I had quite a few printers to choose from, and I chose this HP unit because of previous experience with its predecessor. I am not disappointed. It is faster, it makes crisper copies, and is overall better than my previous HP laser printer. I had some difficulty setting it up (due to not reading the directions before attempting it - yes I am a male). I called HP tech support and they had me going in no time. No, I did not tell my wife - she still thinks I am a genius!

Great Printer - Duplexes + B&W Economical
PostedSeptember 23, 2009
Yes, I would recommend this product
Works like a charm. Reasonable price, compact, and easy to set up. Prints are fast and sharp. Duplexing works great, which would highly recommend. I duplex everything. Also think B&W is the way to go for most people. Text mode renders a fine B&W rendering of color for most documents. For any frames that don't print, such as Google Maps, graphics mode does the job fine. I keep it in graphics mode and haven't noticed any issues.
Along with the duplexing & B&W I bought this printer because of the TN-650 Toner Cartridge -which does 8,000 copies for retail $120 MSRP, but which can be found on Amazon for as low as $80. Leading to the lowest price per copy that I was able to calculate. Could also try economy mode too, which would make the copies dirt cheap.
Also, there only seem to be a few other options for a duplex printer with a super-economical toner cartridge. With Brother being the leading name there. Close to a no-brainer. No regrets. Especially when calculating the replacement cost for a set of laser color cartridges. For color I still have my inkjet. Which scans and copies too. Think two printers are the way to go. With the driving element of the purchasing decision being the low cost per copy.
