Works well, however may increase boot time.

As far as TV tuners are concerned it is one of the best, albeit with a few issues that may need to be taken into consideration when planning and balancing your build. I bought this to add a live television option to my new HTPC. While it works well for its intended purpose, my biggest issue with this card was that it increased the start time (from post to the Windows desktop) of my HTPC from 19 seconds to around 60 seconds. This would not have been as big an issue had this HTPC not been designed for a fast boot (SSD with a UEFI boot, though I opted to go without the UEFI as when I compared start times with and without, start time was marginally better without UEFI). However, what was once a rapid start up has now become rather slow for using an SSD (this is due to the card requiring that extra time to initialize). This is an excellent product as long as you are not worried about an extended boot time or are using a suspend state instead of powering off. The other issue I have is with their disappointing over-the-phone customer support, the representative I spoke with was neither polite nor knowledgeable, and seemed rather distracted by whatever he was doing in the background. However, Hauppage has much better support in their UK forums so you may want to check there first if you have any support needs. Other than those two issues, I'm fairly happy with this product. Image quality is great, though changing channels can be a bit laggy sometimes.
On another note if you're wondering what the difference is between this HVR-2250 (this one is model number 1213) and the other one (model 1229), the other one is an OEM product with just the board, low profile bracket and second a/v input bracket. This one is the retail package that includes the remote and IR transmitter for controlling a set top box.
Pros:viewing live tv on my htpc

This does most of what it says. I can record two shows while watching something already recorded and the FM tuner works flawlessly.
I have Windows 7 64-bit with a quad-core, 8GB Dell Studio computer. I also put a Blu-ray player in to make it media center with a 40" TV on the HDMI outputs and a 24" monitor to work with at the desk.
The card was easy to install and Media Center picks it up with no problem. I'm using the OTA signals and they all come in with no problems. I have a rooftop antennae that picks up TV and FM. It will stutter once in a while and there is a difference between the TV decoding the signal and the card; the TV does a better job. The remote is poor at picking up the signal. My guess is that it has the flourescent signal problem that many remotes have. When I turn of the monitors, the remote works much better. I will probably put the computer in a media closet and use a good IR repeater and wireless keyboard/mouse and that should make it work better.
So far, I think it is a good choice and I don't think there is anything better out there.
Pros:bedroom tv, tv for the kids, recording series

No, I do not recommend this product.
This card is supposed to be one of the best for capturing over the air HD. Under windows 7 it will not use both tuners. The included software is not very good so you must be willing to use something like MythTV or Sage.
For the cost, I would say that this card is not worth the money.
