THERMALTAKE BLACX 2.5& 3.5 SATA HDD DOCKING STATIO

PROS: I have more sata drives than will fit in my system or laptop so I needed external access via eSATA. This works very well with great transfer speeds and also provides an external backup option. Network transfers were taking forever. Now I can backup my 160GB Laptop drive in less than an hour verses over nigth on my network. I use 2 BlacX drive stations and can easily swap drives in a and out between systems. All my data is always available.
CONS: I havent found one yet
Pros:data transfer, temporary storage, backup

This is just too convenient ... I wish all computer cases used integrated removable drives (where you don't have to tear the machine apart to get to it).
Pros:communication

Very Good - with Caveats

Must set BIOS properly and have enclosure powered-up prior to powering-up computer.
Pros:Own 3 of them. Works great w/ 2.5" and 3.5" hdds.
Quite inexpensive compared w/ traditional ext eSATA hdds: rather use raw hdds w/ dock.
Cons:Warning: fast 7200rpm hdds heat up. Docking station holds bottom 1.5" of hdd in enclosure -- no cooling there. Too much heat: must use ext table fan. 5400rpm 3.5" hdds no problem. 2.5" hdds no problem
