If for some reason you didn't buy the XPS M1530 with the extra RAM, nows the time to do it. I went from 2 to 4 GB of RAM, and am definitely seeing a difference in performance.

Yes, I would recommend this product
The Dell website was user friendly and easy to navigate. Dell had a video on how to install the new modules. I ordered the memory modules with overnight delivery and they actually arrived the next day. The installation video explained how to install the modules and I had them installed in less than fifteen min, simple. I am an avid MORPG player, World of Warcraft, and was experiencing bad lag at times even lockup. I went from 1 gig mem to 4 gig mem. And I experience no more lag, not even in Dalaran. Really improved the overall performance of my laptop.

I was hoping tht they would send the memory stick in a small box rather than a plastic packet which got me very nervous of its state when it reached my place. The only thing I can say is that I would prefer for things that can potentially break like a memory stick be shipped in a box or with some serious padding. You never know how the mail delivery service people treat the packages.

I have NO idea what I was thinking when I ordered my m1530 with only 1GB of RAM, frankly I'm surprised they even offered it that way... Either way, I must have missed the memory upgrade option. Took it up to 4GB and haven't looked back.
Pros:Super easy to install, hardest part was finding my small screwdriver!

No problems
Pros:Very easy to install following the guide lines in my XPS 1530 manual, no problems when computer was rebooted, speed and performance slightly increase, maxed out memory at a cheaper cost than if I had ordered a 4GB configuration versus 3GB
Cons:None really but the new chip was a different brand than the 2GB chip which Dell had orginally installed and shipped with my XPS, I expected the same model chip
