Title:
Great hardware bad software
PostedMarch 17, 2008
Yes, I would recommend this product
Before i purchased this card i used a $25.00 sabrent card that actually had reliable software that did what is was supposed to do. The software of this card needs a lot of work.
Pros:The picture quality is great, doesnt take a lot of cpu horsepower, and it's relatively cheap.
Cons:The wintv software, especially the scheduler is horrible, I can record if im watching tv, but if i set it up to record in the background, its starts for a few seconds and then shuts down.

Title:
buyer beware
PostedFebruary 5, 2008
No, I do not recommend this product.
I recommend getting a card with a remote included.
Pros:This TV tuner card works and the quality is great, but there is definitely a difference in quality compared to viewing on a regular tv.
Cons:First of all, if you plan on using this card to view television through windows media center... buyer beware. Media Center requires you to have a media center remote control in order to use a cable box or satellite box, which is not included with the card. You can bypass this buy telling media center that you don't have a box but in doing so you lose some features particularly when recording tv. You purchase a remote elsewhere on the internet for about $50-$300 depending on the features.
