Best bang for the buck

PostedDecember 19, 2007
Yes, I would recommend this product
Flashing with DD-WRT was straighforward. With all the talk about "bricking" the router, I have never had a problem. I have bought 5 of these units and they all work great. Wireless distribution system (WDS) supported. Bridge Repeater supported. Very cool.
Pros:You can do a lot with this router. Plain old router for home or soop it up with DD-WRT (Linux freeware) and run Hotspot, VPN's, VOIP. You can even crank up the power to expand the range. Dual Antennas allow for external higher gain or special applications. Linuxware will run stable for months without a reboot.
Cons:Not as pretty to look at as some of the newer ones. Not as cheap as some of the others on sale with rebate.

Best Router for the money

PostedOctober 17, 2007
Yes, I would recommend this product
Best router for the money at 59$. You can't find a good router at this price, and you cannot get better prices at other stores for this quality.
Pros:This router easily reaches the 100 feet radius while keeping an excellent speed. It is the easiest to install in many routers, even a novice user would be able to install this and configure a proper setup in 10 minutes. The step by step installation process explains to the user what is the use of each step while other routers do not do this and you may be lucky to get an instruction manual or any tech support after.
Cons:None

Reliable!

PostedSeptember 6, 2007
Yes, I would recommend this product
Pros:Once I receive this router, I upload the DD-WRT firmware to it and works like a charm! Very reliable so far, the price is a little bit more than something like a D-Link, but D-Link had been giving me a lot of headaches, so the extra cost was fine. Warning, Linksys might void your warranty if you upload 3rd party firmware into it.

Best of the best

This router just works. Slap on DD-WRT and it gets even better.
Nitpicking:
The only way Linksys could improve on this model (IMO) would be to make less tacky looking. With today's slick silver/black PC's and notebooks, this ol' blue design doesn't quite blend in anymore.
Pros:Excellent performance (multiple downloads, P2P, torrents and surfing with little performance degradation). Open source firmware (Linux kernel)
Cons:Ugly as sin. Front panel LEDS "bleed" into one another.

Simply the Best in its Class

PostedFebruary 9, 2007
Yes, I would recommend this product
Pros:- Awesome wireless range - Relatively good price (it was on sale at dell.ca for $50) - Seems to be very stable using its own F/W - Lets you install third party F/Ws on it, which enables you to turn it into a GS model with Speedbooster feature
Cons:Nothing that I'm aware of.
