Great buy!

I purchased this to help relieve arthritis pain in my hands while gaming and while it takes some getting used to, it does the trick. My pain level is down thanks to the better positioning of my hands and wrists. The only down side is when I remove my hands from the keyboard, I have to visually check to make sure I have my fingers placed properly on home row to type. Otherwise, it's a great product.

Got this for my mom to go with her new tower. Out of the box it seems fairly huge due to the added wrist support at the bottom. But that part is removable, and was removed shortly there after. Nice keystrokes, lot of hot keys, couldn't get past the space in the middle, but that's what she's used to. Pretty nice kb though.

I usually replace my keyboard every year just because I can...and I like the feel of a new keyboard. I have never been disappointed. If you use a regular keyboard at work I found it easy to get used to using both Ergonomic and regular keyboards.

Problems: Spacebar sticking & number positioning
PostedJuly 15, 2011
No, I do not recommend this product.
I have been reading mostly wonderful reviews. On another website, I should have believed several complaints esp. one person who must be an excellent typist and was making numerous errors because of the spacebar sticking. I bought it anyway and took it back after 14 days. When the spacebar is touched on the upper right or left side, it is not going to move. The only way is to hit it hard. How can you do that when you're a typist? I found it impossible. The other problem I had was typing numbers, especially 6 which is on the opposite side. Again, too many errors. Perhaps this keyboard is good for those who did not learn to speed type on a regular typewriter. I would buy it if the spacebar problem is corrected and would commit to re-learning key placement of numbers.
Pros:daily correspondence; spreadsheets e-mail.

No, I do not recommend this product.
I like many of the features on this keyboard, esp, the favorites, calculator and video controls. What is with the noisy, clumsy space bar though. It gets extremely annoying when you're typing for long periods of time. I may have to return it for that reason. Does MS test these kinds of things? Amazing.

Adesso Erognomic Keyboard

The keyboard is very easy to use....although I have to press a little firmer on the TAB key for some reason. Other than that, love the design; it takes a lot of pressure off my wrists which helps immensely.
The only downside that I've had, this keyboard seems to not want to be PNP, and it's supposed to be. Everytime I restart my system it wants to update the driver. So that's been my only issue with it. But considering where it helps on my hands, I will keep using it and dealing with it wanting to update the driver.

Beautiful, Intelligent Design—A Delight to Use
PostedMarch 23, 2010
Yes, I would recommend this product
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES AND LAYOUT
I have used Microsoft ergonomic keyboards since the mid-1990s. With the Natural 4000, MS has achieved the extraordinary. The rows are gently curved to match the natural reach of the fingers. The surface rises and falls in a gentle wave that mirrors natural wrist and hand positions. Even the wrist rest changes in depth to be just right when reaching for any part of the keyboard. The tilt can be adjusted from the front as well as the back for stunning flexibility. Raised markers for home keys on the alpha and keypad sections are unobtrusive, yet easy to feel. A quick-zoom toggle in the center makes it easy to zoom in and out in Office documents and on web pages (I know it works in the IE, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome browsers for Windows). Back and Forward buttons just below the space bar are a great convenience for Web navigation.
FUNCTIONALITY
I use Calculator several times a day, so the calculator button is wonderful. Function keys (F1 - F12) can switch to perform common document tasks such as Open, Undo, and Save. However, this is controlled by a lock key that is easy to press by accident, resulting in unexpected behavior that is hard for many users to troubleshoot (turn on the [F Lock] to fix it). Common shortcuts printed on the front edge of keys help new Windows users learn the [Ctrl]+[key] functions (Select All, Find, Cut, Copy, Paste, Underline, Italic, Bold). Programmable keys to launch “Favorite” applications, and keys to control volume and advance tracks on a music CD add extra utility.
FOR MAC USERS
For the most part, the keyboard's features work well with Macs, and the design actively considered Mac users (you can swap the [Windows] and [Alt] keys in the software preferences to match the Mac keyboard layout, for example).
CONS
My complaints are few. Like many reviewers, I find the space bar to require a little too much pressure, but you get used to it. The keycaps cannot easily be removed for cleaning or to retrieve foreign objects (I learned the hard way by breaking the space bar). Most annoying is that the printing wears off on frequently used keys for users with longer nails. It does not appear to be the nails themselves, but, possibly, the difference in position and motion of the fingers. Finally, those who use a KVM device to share a keyboard between multiple computers may want to borrow a Natural 4000 to try before they purchase. Such devices often do not support the special features of this keyboard. You can sometimes remedy the limitation by attaching the keyboard to a peripheral USB port on the back of the KVM switch, rather than to the port dedicated specifically for the keyboard (usually on the front).
RECOMMENDATION
This is a beautifully and intelligently designed product. A delight to use, it has significantly reduced or eliminated even advanced wrist pain for me and for several of my users. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a 9-plus, and recommend it unreservedly.

I was drawn to this keyboard for the quick zoom option. Once i installed it, i found that the space bar was hard to depress. i am not an efficient typest so take my review for what it is. for me, i didn't care for the curved keboard. i have since ordered another Microsoft keyboard and mice combo.
