Really, the title says it all. I am very happy with the purchase, it is a very good screen and stand. I am glad I bought it, and would recommend it to a friend.
It is a larger screen than I used before, which is very usefull. However, it can also resolve shades of colour, that my older screen could not. This makes web browsing much easier, and far more pleasant.
I did have one minor problem: when I first connected the screen up to my pc, I turned the power on, my pc powered up, but the screen was dead! The problem, was the supplied mains power lead. It was, on the first insertion, a VERY tight fit into the socket in the monitor. Although I thought I had pushed it fully home, it was not making contact. Pushing it in, with force, solved the problem, and the monitor came to life. I have since tried, removing and re-inserting the connector several times, and it is now much freer, but without being loose. The feel is now, what I would expect for this type of connector. But please, do not be put off by this, this has taken longer to type about, than it took to solve!
Pros:web bowsing, email, photo editing

Excellent Dell 2312HM IPS Monitor

Well... I have always purchased Dell products, but something made me sway away and purchased another branded monitor. BIG MISTAKE. I am so picky when it comes to colour reproduction, uniformity and viewing angles. The monitor which I purchased promised these features, it did not live up to the promises. After much research, I came across one name time after time. Dell. I decided that, as I know Dells products are normally fantastic that I would buy a monitor with the Dell badge on.
I unboxed the monitor, and firstly was keeping my fingers crossed for no dead pixels. Turned the monitor on, perfect, no defects. I then connected the monitor up to my PC, and turned it on... AMAZING. Bright, colourful, sharp, clear, and you can see it from literally any angle with no colour deviation.
I reccomend this monitor to anyone who, like me, are picky and notice small details such as uneven backlight or annnoying red/pink tints to white displayed on LCD screens. This monitor contrary to a few reviews I read on the net does not seem to suffer from any issues.
The only issue I can find with this monitor is the (IPS GLOW) problem caused by the technology used in this panel. This is not noticable unless the screen is displaying a black screen. This to me is a very very small issue, because the monitor performs so well in every other way. I can live with a small ammount of glow when the screen displays black.
The monitor also has a fantastic adjustable stand which can rotate, pivot, tilt and height adjust. There is also 4 USB connections (2 rear, 2 side) which are another fantastic Dell feature I cant live without.
Pros: IPS panel with amazing viewing angles, ergonomic adjustable stand, USB connections, fantastic colour production. Everything really.
Cons: IPS glow, but as I said, I would rather put up with a slight glow when the screen displays a black screen then compromise on all of the other fantastic features and benifits this monitor has to offer.
