So far so good

Yes, I would recommend this product
We have been using HP printers for 10 years and could not believe the price/warranty from dell. We have bought 3 of these printers and have been working flawless!

Title:

Terrible Printer!

PostedOctober 21, 2011
No, I do not recommend this product.
We have used Dell branded Laser printers for over 8 years now, starting with the 5300's. For the most part they have been VERY good, especially the 5300 and 5310's, but these newest 5230's are quite frankly abysmal!
They keep losing their settings... Once you set them up, they will function correctly for a few weeks to a couple of months, then suddenly and for no reason that Dell's tech support can give me, they start doing things differently. Labels start printing in tiny fonts, you chose to print from tray 2, but it absolutely will only print from tray 1, it will print from tray 2 in Word, but not in Excel, it will stop autofeeding envelopes etc, etc.
I have spent countless hours on the phone with Dell's printer specialists and they are baffled and clueless about these issues.
Stay away from this particular model. All I can hope for is that the next generation will be as stable and as good as the 5300 series.
