Short range
PostedJune 20, 2010
No, I do not recommend this product.
This came installed in the Inspiron 1525. Using a Linksys wireless router. Range is only 15 feet. Other laptops can connect at least 50 feet away.

Yes, I would recommend this product
Pros:Came pre-installed on Inspiron 1525 last week, and works great. Running 2 wireless computers thru an old Linksys router, and had no problems detecting and no lag time loading web-sites. Have 1.5 DSL
Cons:no so far, but I usually have something pop up from time to time.

Great card
PostedDecember 29, 2008
Yes, I would recommend this product
Not sure what the other review was referring to. Came standard in my Inspiron 1720, and my DL's are not hurting for speed... even with only a "fair" network connection level (router pushing through a couple of concrete walls) the speed really surprised me. Top notch. And I lived through the 14.4 and 28.8 stages too... poor comparison. Great card!
Pros:Smokin' fast
Cons:Nay

Severe latency issues
PostedSeptember 14, 2008
No, I do not recommend this product.
This card was included in my latitude 530. I tried installing updates and nothing could correct the latency issues. I may have had a bad card so they may not be all bad but I have seen a few other posts on the net with the same issue. Swapping out the card corrected the issue.
Pros:It is a wireless card
Cons:Slow on all wifi networks. It reminded me the days of being on a 28.8 modem. Dell wireless app is slow to load on coldboot of the laptop. Unable to correct without going to a different card in the Dell store.
