A sorry card

PostedFebruary 8, 2008
No, I do not recommend this product.
Pros:Easy to instal and has wireless N capability
Cons:If you do not have a third antena wire you will not get the full benefit of this card. My 1720 only had two wires for the antena and it limited my DL speed. Go with the dell 1505 card it uses only two antena wires

Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini-card

Yes, I would recommend this product
The XPS had the third antenna tucked inside so removing the 3945 and installing the 4965 took about 15 min. Works great
Pros:XPS M1210 Easy install. Vista found the driver and installed it. Connects at 144 with a Linksys 300 on DSL, over 200 on a T1 with Buffalo dual band
Cons:None

dell didn't have the option to order this N pci card with my lap top.want to order a 531s desk top and put this card in it but cant get a straight ansewer if I can or not.want to order another inspirion 1721 laptop with this card cant get help there either.no one can tell me if I order with out a modem or wireless card if the pci slots are still installed to put the pci cards in.if any one knows please clue me in.would also like to see dell make a 20" or 22" laptop for a desk top replacement.
Pros:cost less than other options to upgrade from G to N...so easy to install a moron could do it.worked right away no problems.boost my speed from 54mbps to 144 mbps
Cons:I expected to get 360 mbps. but am still happy with it
