Yes, I would recommend this product
Bought 2 of these to replace 2 smaller drives in my m17x Alienware laptop. I chose these because they were the largest available on the Dell site. I would have bought larger if they were available.

Yes, I would recommend this product
I purchased this hard disk about a month after my XPS 17 laptop. I had realized right away that my laptop was missing something crucial, a secondary, 750GB, storage device.
It's nice that DELL recommends hardware for its specific product line. You know it will be supported, and for a personal use laptop, it's really quite a gesture from DELL to support their product line the way they do if you purchase the warranty as well so you can buy with confidence because you are dealing with a good merchant.
Pros:software development, miscelleneous content storage

Yes, I would recommend this product
I have an Alienware m15x with a 250gb hard drive, needless to sa that filled up quickly with the 30+ games I have installed on it. So I got this thing and the upgrade went perfect and smooth. No problems whatsoever. I love the extra space, the 7200 rpm is great. I couldn't have asked for a better drive that fit perfectly and installed easily.
Pros:increase hard drive space, storage of videos movies pics and games., installing several high-disk-space-requiring games
