Worthless

PostedAugust 22, 2009
No, I do not recommend this product.
If you were unfortunate to get stuck with this AT LEAST do not go out and waste money on bluetooth enabled devices.
Dell doesn't know a thing about Bluetooth and they really shouldn't be selling it.

Title:

Bluetooth only...card reader is pure aggravation

PostedJune 16, 2009
No, I do not recommend this product.
This upgrade is quite unreliable. Even if you Eject in explorer, it probably will not work the next time. And Safely Remove will remove it from the computer altogether.
All tech support can think of is "open the case, disconnect the cable, reconnect the cable, download driver". When they FINALLY sent a replacement device, it was a reburbished part with a scratched faceplate. It required a firmware update. Then it detected some phantom bluetooth device in addition to my Palm Treo.
The replacement worked properly for exactly three days and then it too became unreliable. Thank goodness I already had a Sandisk card reader that is quite reliable.
