I bought this monitor to hookup with my security system and turn on 24/7, never has problem, beautiful picture quality and sleek design.

Yes, I would recommend this product
I currently own several 1707FP and 1708FP model monitors. These are the former versions of the P170s, but with silver accents, instead of a solid black color. These monitors, including this one are the best monitors Dell has ever offered in my opinion and are the best for home/office, etc. If you need a reliable monitor that will last and last, I highly recommend you choose this one.

Great versatility

Yes, I would recommend this product
I searched high & low for a monitor that had the features & versatility this one has. My needs were: 17" in size (there is also a 19" model), easy height adjustment (this is the easiest there is), tilt adjustment, swivel, non-bulky footprint on desk/counter, USB powered ports, VGA & DVI ports, built in power supply, as compact as possible in a 17" size. I hope they keep this around for a long time!!!
