Been using this printer at home for 2 days now, needless to say for the price, I was VERY impressed. Print quality is excellent, installation of print manager, drivers and setting up the printer is a breeze. Couldn't beleive I get this much for that price! The wireless functionality is really handy. have 2 Laptops and 1 desktop connected to that printer, and I was able to locate the Printer in a more convenient place since there's no cable required to print anymore. You can also manage it remotely via a very well built web interface!
This is truely a 5 Stars for me! Kuddos Dell for making such a great product so affordable!
Michael.

This is a great printer, especially for a compact place like a dorm room. I wish that it printed in color, however, it is very easy to set up and very fast printing. The refill cartridges are easy to install and take a relatively long time to run out. Overall very satisfied with my purchase.

Review 6 for Dell - B1160w Wireless Mono Laser Printer
This is the worst printer I have ever owned. Before this printer Dell was the only brand I would buy, now I am trashing this one and going with a different brand. I constantly have to re-install the driver. Communication between the computer and printer is non-existent whether using as wireless or wired.
Not worth the trouble or the money.

Review 7 for Dell - B1160w Wireless Mono Laser Printer
It's weird~!I cannot link this printer through wifi to my new dell inspiron 5520. I tried other laptops. It seems that the wireless driver "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230" doesn't fit the printer's driver because when I used a USB wireless network adapter to plug in the inspiron 5520, the printer worked! I don't know how to figure out that. So now I just use the USB connector to link the printer to my laptop.

Great Laser for the price

We have two high schoolers who print a lot of papers and documents for school. we were constantly running out of toner for our color inkjet printer. I wanted to find an inexpensive but good quality b&w printer they could primarily use for their school work, when they don't need color. This printer hit the mark on price; size; speed to print and capacity of cartridge (1500 pages!) no more running to the store at 10pm to buy toner for a project that has to be printed and turned in the next morning, because our other printer ran out. Great value for our needs, great service and quick delivery from Dell.

The Dell Unified Driver installs fine on LMDE, but you still have to manually configure the network connection in your printer configuration to be ipp://169.XXX.XX.XX, or whatever your is. The Dell installer also requires you to have sane installed, even though it's not a scanner. You MUST install sane, or it will not work for wireless. Very nice, extremely small form factor. Quality printing at a very low cost.

I have been using computers about 15 years. Needless to say, I have been through many printers over the years. This is by far the best I have ever used. Honestly, we use very expensive and large Xerox printers at work and I find this small printer works faster and shows better graphics than what I use at work.
This was definitely a great choice for me.
Pros:personal use, items i work on in my volunteer work., work assignments completed at home.

Review 12 for Dell - B1160w Wireless Mono Laser Printer
I purchased this printer just a few days ago. Its been rock'n and roll'n every since....Im a grad student that has to print large documents almost daily. My poor little inkjet printer just couldn't compete with the job loads. Also I needed something with a better ink management. This system comes with a 700 page toner, I wish it had been 1500 but I'll live. Everything is working just fine however the duplex mode is not the best you basically have to re-flatten the paper to use this feature since its not automatic.....a con I can live with though. I wish I had purchased the wireless printer but again I'll live. This model is definitely on the budget of any student/small business owner. Just what you need when you need it!!! Overall great system....I'll have to update you guys on how long the starter toner lasts....keep in mind I don't print graphics except for basic graphs.

Hello jrp12,
Thank you for providing us with your excellent review of the new Dell - B1160w Wireless Laser Printer. We are glad to hear that you are enjoying this product!
In regards to the concerns you are having when using the manual duplex mode, it is not common to have to re-flatten the paper each time if you are using the appropriate media. I would advise that you reach out to our Social Support Team directly via Facebook (http://bit.ly/HlJ9LZ); Twitter - @DellCares (http://bit.ly/Hhh2SQ); or the Dell Community Forums (http://dell.to/GY65Xz). They will be able to troubleshoot with you to make sure the printer is working as intended.
Again, thank you for your feedback, and have a great day – Gina.

Great portable printer!
PostedAugust 30, 2012
Yes, I would recommend this product
I have been very happy with this printer. It is small enough to fit into a carry bag so that I can take it to meetings. I am an attorney and there are oftens times where I really need a printer. Until I found this, I just had to save documents on a flash drive and print them off later. Now I can take this with me and print off documents right there.
It is also really fast. The printing speed surprised me. So far the quality has been very good.
The only think I don;t like is if you run out of paper, it acts like a paper jam. You need to essentially start over whatever you are doing.
All and all, though, I got excatly what I was looking for with this printer.
Pros:business, Travel

Hello ShannonM,
Glad to hear you have found a portable printer to fit your needs! The Dell - B1160w Wireless Mono Laser Printer, is great for the on-the-go professional! With it's diminutive size, there are going to be some features not included. One of them is the "out of paper" sensor. Instead, it defaults to the catch all error for paper jam. Just lift the lid, reload paper and it should continue.
