This is great for the home office and printing quality prints that won't streak, run and in the long run...it's much more economical per page printed. It also allows the option to scan documents and fax. A great all in one printer with a print copy that you will be proud of!!!

Great Printer!!

Yes, I would recommend this product
Great printer if you're using for non-color prints. I purchased this printer to replace a all-in-on ink jet printer. The ink dries up on me before i can get 10 pages of prints out of it, i don't print much. It comes with driver software, i use windows 7 and the drivers work great. So far i have used the printer and scanner/copier functions and they work great.
One thing i really enjoy is you can connect the printer up your router (if you have a network) and the software can look up the ip address for you and install the software needed to use through the network. You just need to install the software on all your computers on the network and can print from anyone of them instead of having to setup a print server or whatever just to print, really easy to setup on a network.
The scanning feature works great, the software provided with the printer is basic and can be confusing to use, but use it a couple of times and you will get the hang of it. It has twain drivers so you can use photoshop or whatever software you have to scan. You can even scan images over your network, so you can have computers connected to your network and with the drivers installed you can scan from any computer with the one printer over the network.
Overall i am very pleased with this printer, it prints clean and quickly.
Pros:personal use

Review 3 for Dell - 1135n Multifunction Laser Printer
I purchased the Dell 1135n Laser to replace an inkjet printer that was on its last legs, and it was a great choice. As a software developer, most of the things that I print are technical specifications, code listings and so on. However, I tend to print sporadically and that's really not ideal for inkjets (you can end up wasting a lot of money on cartridges). Since I don't need to print in color, I decided a mono laser printer would be the best way to go. Laser toner doesn't go "bad" over time, so for folks like myself who only print occasionally, over the long term you're going to save money going with a laser printer.
The Dell 1135n was extremely easy to setup, little more than unpack and plug in. The scanning and copying features work out of the box, although I'll admit I haven't tried faxing because, well, no one I know actually faxes anything anymore (1989 is calling and would like their technology back). The print quality is great, and I was actually surprised at the fast spin-up time for the printer. It's quiet, has a small footprint and looks good. There's really nothing else that I could ask for.
Pros:software development, general office work

Review 4 for Dell - 1135n Multifunction Laser Printer
I had a little bit of a slow time trying to read the "universal pictures" that are supposed to make it easy to set up, but I'm a can't wait, do it now kinda guy, so I didn't want to bother reading the manual. After familiarizing myself with what the pictures were trying to communicate, I was able to set it up, print a test page, and will set up the fax line as soon as the ISP is scheduled. Looks nice, lots of features.
Pros:personal at home

Thank you for taking time and sharing your experience with us. Besides, I would suggest you to go through the Manual at least during your free time, likewise you will know the features and to operate this product better.
Enjoy printing from your new printer and have fun. Thank you for the review .Have a great Day!

Arrived yesterday, on time for a change! Whereas it's a big larger than expected - does a nice job of printing and scanning. It has a fax machine, but I can't think of an instance where I will use it since you can scan and email. The ability to scan and email is a bit redundant, but no biggie. I like the auto feed, gives you the option of creating a PDF with more than one page. I will miss my Epson inkjet with a scanner, but it just got to the point that ink was more expensive than buying a laser. Paper holds holds more than enough paper as well. Networking it was a breeze with the included software disc. No complaints on this one for sure. We use this for a small home office, prints are crisp and fast. I like it!

Review 7 for Dell - 1135n Multifunction Laser Printer
The website says this printer works on Mac operating systems. However, after 4 hours on the phone with tech support, the printer still can't print. The technician also told me that it doesn't scan to Mac OS either. The copy on this product on the website needs to be changed!
Pros:business
Response from Dell.comBy GinaVforDell, Customer Reviews, June 14, 2012
Hello JohnHouse,
I apologize that you did not have the best out-of-box experience with the Dell 1135n MFP Laser printer. The website for this product does state the supported operating systems as evaluated by engineering in the Tech Specs tab. In particular this product states that it supports “Apple Mac OS X 10.3 - 10.6” (or “Macintosh version OS X: 10.3 - 10.6”), so unfortunately Mac OS X 10.7 is not supported.
If you need further assistance with this product, please reach out to our Social Support Team directly.
Being cheaper to replace ink printers than purchase new toner, I decided to go for a laser printer. I have laser printers here that are B/W and tend to have to replace toner every few years. I decided to go for a color laser and this does the job. I have to scan constantly and this printer does the task flawlessly VIA FTP/EMAIL/TWAIN.

Great Price and Quality

I was looking for an relatively inexpensive multi-functional laser printer. I checked out HP and a couple of other popular name brands and did some comparisons between pricing, shipping costs, size, weight and functionality. The Dell 1135n beat all the others I checked out. It was fairly easy to setup and install, however, a written or easier to follow manual would have helped greatly. There was part of the packaging that was difficult to determine if it was part of the printer or packing. I was having a problem with the paper feed and found some well adhered blue tape causing a problem so I took a chance and pulled it off. Problem solved. I am very pleased with my purchase. It is a great printer/copier/scanner. I haven't had a need for the fax portion yet because I use the scanner and email files instead and do not have a land line since I have wireless Internet access.

Review 12 for Dell - 1135n Multifunction Laser Printer
I plugged it in and it worked. I am in the IT business and like any "mechanic" I never want to work on my own cars. This is my first personal laser printer as I always have access to office machines, but as a graduate student and now working remote more often it was time to upgrade at home. I couldnt be happier.
So far I haven't even had to install the software. Scanning to the PC works right out of the box with Win7 64. I suspect I will to fax, but so far I haven't needed to bother.
Pros:print, scan

This printer is exactly what we needed for our Small Family business, It is fast, trouble free, and does not take up any more space than our old printer. the ink cost is much more reasonable than the ink jet that we used. And the best feature is the added ability to create PDF files without having to spend a lot of money on expensive software for this feature. The only problem we had were there were no instructions included on how to use the scan PDF feature, it required a call to your tech center to get the information we needed to operated that feature.

It took two attempts to get it right. The first unit failed after one use. The automatic feeder completely failed. The second one works really well. Pros: Fast print, OCR is pretty good for the price you pay, scanning is top notch. Cons: Cost of ink and availability only from Dell, which is always a negative to me. Support from Dell's India team was difficult to understand and returns seem to be challenging for them to understand.
Overall I gave the product a 4 because the one that works, works very well.

I never would have thought a laser printer would be a good fit for me because I use it for home use and rarely print. However, as little as I print I found myself buying ink all the time. Now that I have a laser I won't have to replace the toner for years. It was a little more upfront but it has already paid for itself. Highly recommend this one but I'm sure the basic laser would be fine if you don't mind plugging it in to your computer.

Awful Scanner
PostedFebruary 2, 2012
No, I do not recommend this product.
I depend on a good quality scanner and so far the Dell 1135n has not impressed me at all. The feeder jams all the time. It doesn't matter if you are trying to scan 1 page or 10. I don't have time to scan using the flatbed when I am scanning 10, 20 or more pages. I have used a Brother all in one in the past and never experienced the problems I am having now with the Dell. If you need a good scanner do NOT buy this product!!!!!
