Big machine in a small package

Yes, I would recommend this product
I'm a retired computer manager and I upgraded from a Dell 4550 XP SP-3 machine to this little honey with Win 7 Pro 4 Gig ram 500 Gig HD. Small neat package. This machine is FAST and the display on my 23 inch Acer flat screen is amazing. Love Win 7. My son came over and saw my new computer and is ordering the same machine with Win 7 Home Premium for the lower price. Highly recommend this computer!
Pros:home use, financial software, hoa business

Small, Quiet and Durable

Yes, I would recommend this product
This V270S Small Form Factor (SFF) is a very nice little machine. It does have some upgrade limitations as mentioned by other reviewers but for those that are looking for a system that will take up very little space this system hits the mark. Slightly shorter than a standard V270 and 1/2 it's width this tower can fit in a small area under a desk, Previously these types of towers had small rubber feet on one side so a person could lay it down and put their monitor on top of it. This particular model does not have those feet but can still be utilized this way as long as the vent is not covered by the monitor base. For those who are into the newer tech available you will be happy to know that there are 6 USB ports on the back 2 of which are USB 3.0 and if you want a larger monitor.....it has a HDMI port as well... so 60" Tv's here we come! Plus built in Wireless.
As for a small workstation, where upgrads aren't an issue, this is a great solution.
This particular build was with Win7 Pro 64bit, 4GB Ram and a 500B HDD.
As a Dell Registered Partner, I approve of and Recommend the V260s to many clients and have installed over a half dozen thus far.
Pros:workstation, domain computer, network computer

Review
I debated buying the Inspiron 660s, Inspiron 660 or this Vostro 270s. I ended up buying this desktop since its base models had more essentials over the Inspiron series at a more affordable price.
Keep in mind that it is more difficult to upgrade SFF desktops. It only came with two dimms and one PCIEx16 with a 220W PSU. If one were to upgrade the graphics card, it would need to be low-profile ready.
Luckily, I contacted Dell to see which graphics cards are suitable for my PC. They recommended the Radeon HD 7570 even though my PSU was low. I trusted them and bought the card on Ebay. I also bought a small form bracket adapter to fit my PC.
On the Dell website, I opted for the 4GB ram and then upgraded the ram myself. Dell Technicians say that I can upgrade my unit to 16GB total, but I chose to buy two 4GB ram SDRAM at 1600MHz.
This unit can support 5.1 surround sound.
The stock fans on both the graphics card and the motherboard keep the unit surprisingly cool for a SFF PC. There are vents at the top and the side of the PC for both the GPU and CPU. The CPU temp runs from 23 to 42 degrees and the GPU runs from 29 to 50 degrees.
If you're doing heavy duty work, I recommend upgrading your integrated graphics for a stronger dedicated graphics. However, the Intel HD 2500 graphics was able to handle almost everything I threw at it. I wanted to do some gaming so I upgraded it to a mid-tier graphics card.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with my system. I know this will last my for at least 5 years. It can hiccup even when idling, but all PCs hiccup. After all, it is powering two 1080p monitors.
Pros:Gaming, School, work, media/entertainment, photo/video editing

Dell has hit the mark

This is one great machine. I usually don't write reviews, but because I was so impressed with this computer, I felt compelled to share my views. First it is well designed..the unit is compact and very quiet, yet it has plenty of processing power and ample usb ports including USB3.0. Dell does a great job in designing their cases, this one is top notch and superior to any other brands you'll find in retail stores. Don't be fooled by its size, this baby has more power than most anyone will ever need (Dell uses the faster 1600 DD3 ram..unlike many competitors). And thank you Dell for not loading this unit up with a bunch of junk software, it comes stripped down to the basics and saved me several hours that I usually spend removing useless programs. This is a home run..just buy it.
