Good computer for price. Upgraded on a couple of things so it would last longer without being upgraded. The compact design has freed up space in my work which I needed.
Pros:good speed for money
compact design
Cons:need y cable for dual monitors (purchase seperately)

1 of the Best Dell Deals
PostedNovember 6, 2008
Yes, I would recommend this product
I have purchased over 50 Dells and this buy was among the top 3 deals.
Too soon to evaluate reliability.
Would love to try one of these with S-Video or DVI on separate video card for HTPC because in addition to the its power, the Vostro Slim Tower exterior has a great visual appearance and attractive blue front panel lights.
Pros:Special pricing last month enabled purchase of one of these with E7200, 2 GB RAM & 80GB HD for $319 w/o monitor. Terrific Value, with the E7200 & 800MHZ RAM, the performance rivals my Optiplex 755 with Q6600.
The inside seems well designed as it is easy to swap HD's or add RAM.
Cons:The sale ended. Would buy more at that price.
Closing door requires manual push as no close door button on DVD drive exists. Some might find it difficult or awkward inserting disks in the vertically oriented DVD drive, especially if DVD use is frequent.

Brilliant System
PostedSeptember 26, 2008
Yes, I would recommend this product
The Dell Vostro 200ST is a brilliant machine at a perfect price. It can play games fair price with the right specs.
Pros:The sleek design:-
Saves space on your desk whilst looking slender and ready for the job.
The amazing power availible:-
Considering that I ran an old Celeron M Dimension 1100 previously with a singular 1 GB RAM stick, this thing blows me away.
Delivery Swiftness:-
The desktop arrived 5 days before it was due to arrive, which really impressed me.
Cons:Loudness at start-up/gaming:-
The Vostro makes a bullfight crowd sound like a pin dropping on startup. Afterhand though, it runs fairly quietly, unless you decide to play a mid-range game. Then it fires up a bit, not as bad as start-up, but bad enough.
Flip-out CD Cover:-
It's a murder to push the button to send the CD back into the drive. You have to press it quickly and then retract your fingers to avoid damaging the disk holder. If not, you just have to push the holder back in and hope you don't do any damage.

BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY PEOPLE!!!
Pros:Wow is just about all I can say. So much in one package, for such a low price. I ordered mostly basic things with this PC, but the performance I've been getting out of it is INCREDIBLE. It makes me wonder what it would be like if i DID upgrade the processor, memory, video card, etc. Turns on and off like a light switch. If I had the money, I would buy 10 more of these!
Cons:A little noisy for the first couple of seconds during power up, but is pretty silent afterwards. Also does not come with special green and purple ports for older mice, or a DVI port. But, no problem during this age in time!

Great job Dell. I will never change pc companies becasue it doesn't get better than this!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros:I got this computer in June and love it. I use it or home use and haven't had any problems with it. Extremely fast, slim tower, expandable, huge monitor, great graphics, Vista Business is great, 4 GB RAM handles everything thrown at it. The processor works well, and with 2 320GB HDD you can store a whole lot. The optional internal network/ wirless card connects very fast and has a strong signal. I use it for video and photo editing and it works great. The computer starts up so fast, it is amazing.
Cons:Absolutely none!!!

Yes, I would recommend this product
Pros:I bought my Vostro for home use. Incredibly powerful, quiet, and aesthetically pleasing. The slim tower packs a punch with the built in 2 GB of RAM and Core 2 Duo without the noise that generally accompanies a powerful processor. The 20" widescreen monitor is also a beauty. DVD drive works fantastic. The best part is the packaged deal having an amazing price tag for the power and productivity this computer will get you.
Cons:The on-board graphics processor is only good for low-level gaming and even causes DVD watching to be blurry. For video editing, gaming, or multi-media experience, upgrade to a dedicated graphics card.

PostedMay 11, 2008
Yes, I would recommend this product
Very good value for the money.
Pros:- Good performance with 2GB RAM and Core 2 duo processor
- Visa Home Premium works well with this PC
- Nice, slim design and good build quality
- Very quiet operation
-Dell Bluetooth keyboard and mouse work very well
Cons:- Default Intel graphics card is just OK. I'd upgrade to one of the dedicated card options.
- I got it with the wi-fi option, but need to use a linksys USB wi-fi adapter to get good performance from my router. So, the wi-fi option was a bit of a waste.
- Limited upgrade options.
- Dell Bluetooth key board works very well, but very cheap plasticky...

Pretty, quiet, works fine
PostedApril 30, 2008
Yes, I would recommend this product
I've had a Dimension at home for several years, and maintain many models of Optiplex at work. I'm really favorably impressed with the Vostro so far and will be recommending them at work if we need to purchase more PCs--mostly because of the noise issue. The Vostro is extremely quiet--I almost don't know it's on. At work we have monitors atop small format Optiplexes, and they can vibrate something terrible. I have a 19" monitor on my Vostro, still no noise. For budget reasons, I bought the lowest-end processor possible for my home office and was a little worried about performance. But so far there's nothing I've wanted to do that I couldn't because of a low-end processor. For me, any shortcomings are far outweighed by the BIOS, which is more advanced than on the old Dimension, and having 1 GB of memory. I can have it start up automatically in the mornings. I can have Firefox open up with 4 open tabs, and run them all while Quicken and other programs are also open. I can run Quicken (2002) with a bunch of open tabs. When I click on something it doesn't take 45 seconds to respond! The CD drive makes a tiny beeping noise when reading a disk, but it works fine. I can't vouch for how sturdy it is--but we've had them go in many (more expensive) Optiplexes and I don't think Vostro's reliability could be that much worse. The power light is a pretty blue, and not noticeable when other lights are on. But if you turn the lights out to go to bed, it can be really intense and noticeable especially when flashing. I find it better to shut the computer completely down at night rather than leave it on standby. Only rated reliability at 4 stars because I haven't had it long enough to be sure.
Pros:Inexpensive, small size, aesthetically pleasing, quiet. Much more powerful than my 5-yr old Dimension despite Celeron processor. Didn't have to spend time removing programs I didn't want.
Cons:Power light is extremely bright

Yes, I would recommend this product
Pros:Unbeatable price, great for small office workstations. Decent space savings.
Cons:A few more usb ports in the back would have been great, since the keyboard, mouse, printer, and one other external device is all you will get to plug in. Granted there are 2 extra ports on the front, but you don't want to plugin full time peripherals into the front.

Again, I think this is perfect for productivity/office use. More the enough for emails, MS office, web browsing, etc.
Pros:Great value. Received my units with 20" LCD, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, C2D E4500. For the price, it can't be beat. Perfect for productivity use. Not meant for games, but this is Dell Business. Good fan on the heatsink. Doesn't take up much space. Fairly quiet.
Cons:Not really a con because I knew I was getting a slim tower, but not much space inside for upgrades. It could use some more USB ports in the back. DVI with onboard video would be excellent.

I personally like Dell's packages, especially the sales promotions, very good pricing.
Pros:excellent hardware connections, easy to add additional hardware, fairly priced and very reliable.
Cons:Vista operating system requires more memory and that should be stressed to customer or included as part of price.
XP is my preferred operating system due to compatibility with other products.
