Pros:The experience with this machine has been great. We are planning to buy a second one. Great design, the front bottons are very useful. Excellent screen.
Cons:It is a liitle heavy if you are planning to travel with it.

Got this Laptop with top of the line features to avail $500 discount for a purchase over $1250. Its a good value for money deal.
Pros:The performance is excellent with no hiccups. Battery life is excellent, I have kept the brightness a to bit on the dim side. The attached web cam is also good, very clear. Nice to use as TV and watch TV/ Movie across the room. Sound quality is good.
Cons:Comes with lot of preloaded stuff which you need to disable. Looks also is not very attractive considering it is a Home PC replacement, should have some decorative value :-)

Overall I'm happy with the purchase. It's nice to be able to upgrade from a desktop to a laptop for about the same price. As soon as I get my little problem resolved, I'll be extatic, not just happy! Thank you Dell.
Pros:Great screen size, extended keyboard, many desktop replacement features, etc, etc, etc... Good bang for your buck.
Cons:Mine has a glitch ever since purchase--after a while it locks up and I have to restart. Haven't contacted tech support about it yet (no time). So it's my fault it hasn't been fixed. Kind of annoying in the meantime, though.

If you're shopping for a laptop, price the others first. More often than not, Dell provides more bang for your buck.
Pros:Quality built machine, at a great price compared to similarly equipped competitors' models. Very sturdy construction. Everything you'd expect from a Dell.
Cons:None so far.

Pros:I love this computer! It was a great deal and so easy to build to suit all my business needs.
Cons:Sometimes when I'm typing the words can't seem to keep up. This is true both when typing and when backspacing.

finding my grandkids playing games on it during a recent family/business mixed trip emphasized the wide screen, traveling desktop feature.
Pros:the first portable desk top - I recommend it to family and friends - the 17 inch screen size and full desktop type keyboard makes all the difference in present laptops

Keep offering your PC's with Windows XP for as long as possible to give Vista a chance to stabilize more. I bought the Vostro 1700 for me and the Vostro 1500 for my grandson.
Pros:A good PC laptop replacement for desktop! Excellent speed with 3gig ram. Went with Windows XP cause Vista is still a little quirky, has too many "Gotchas" and I have too much invested in software that sometimes does not run on Vista. The Dell machine is great with MS Windows XP!! And it works with all my software!! XP is a very stable system.
Cons:A little heavy but it is a desktop replacement and a lot easier to carry than a desktop PC.

Pros:I have been very pleased with the capabilities of the laptop. It is slated to be a replacement for my desktop and I am finding it to be very good for that purpose. Screen colors and graphics have been very very good and renderings of my digital photos has been extremely good. I have already recommended this unit to several friends. Hope they buy and are as satisfied as I am

I love my Vostro 1700. No matter who shows up to a meeting (or how much they may have paid for their machine,) I always have the coolest laptop in the room. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!
Pros:The display is beautiful, the wireless networking works like a champ, the fan is quiet and unobtrusive, and it doesn't get very hot, even when held on my lap. I love the professional-looking black color scheme - like Darth Vader's helmet, this pure-black laptop says "I mean business!"
Cons:1. Keyboard trim feels flimsy and acts like it wants to dislodge sometimes - I could see this becoming a problem eventually.
2. PageUp and PageDown keys are in an awkward position above the numeric keypad, side-by-side. Because of this nonintuitive location, I've started using the touchpad to scroll instead of using PageUp and PageDown. Luckily, this works great.

Ordered a second 1700 for my wife but this time had XP originally installed so no need to "downgrade" to get better performance.
Pros:17 IN. Widescreen looks incredible. Opted for the 1920x1200 and a 8600M GT video card. Plays all my games at great framerates and resolutions.
Cons:Came with Vista.
"Downgraded" to XP and gained over 25% performance in most games. XP is just much faster and easier to use.

I bought the Vostro to be my gaming desktop replacement. It has been great so far.
Pros:-Cheap for its specifications, especially during promotions
-Nice, clean design.
-Upgradeable to very high performance.
-Easy to use shortcut buttons
Cons:-The touchpad is not very sensitive, especially the scrolling bar on the side.
-Due to the size of the screen (17 inches, very big), even the 9 cell battery will only last 4~5 hours (when screen brightness is set to low)
-Not very portable due to its size and weight

Pros:Great machine. Excellent spec - 3GB RAM, 320GB hard drive, WiFi/Bluetooth, Very good processing and amazing graphics & display. Many applications working very good. I’m surprise it’s working so quiet.
Cons:A little too big, a specialy if you take 9Cell batery. This batery is too big, also is have if you plan to move around often you need good case or backpack.. But the extended keyboard is great help if you working with numbers. Off-center mouse pad is not so comfortable but working fine

Pros:Excellent layout. Plenty of usb ports. Extremely quick. Runs multiple programs at the same time. Great picture quality. Easy wi fi hook up. Makes a great desktop computer. Easy enough to unhook and take with you.
Cons:Heavy. But I expected that in a 17" with a full numeric key pad.
