Occasionally a drive goes bad, but dell is quick to replace if under warranty.

Pros Easy installation, Fast setup, Works well with Windows and RHEL, Easy upgrade path, good performance, and looks good. We have three of these now with two running for more than a year. One is dedicated to serving Linux Ext3 file systems and the other two are split Windows and Linux. I use Linux logical volumes to increase and decrease file system sizes on the fly and have never had a problem. NFS, SAMBA, and SMB all work well.
Cons I can't really think of any. The units are heavy so get a friend to help install it. They also generate a lot of heat when fully configured.
Pros:software development, sql database, exchange is

Pros:I never thought I could afford a cache mirroring controller. A few years ago cache mirroring was only available on systems costing more than $100K The performance is great with SAS. it's the same a FC. I'm really stoked about this array.
We really saved a lot of money by buying Dell instead of EMC and got a lot more Storage capacity also.
