great for vmware

Yes, I would recommend this product
After having good experiences with the 1950 line (intel based) of servers, we expected the same with Dell and AMD processors, but we got much more.
The 2970 runs vmware flawlessly (make sure to use the dell-specific build) and easily handles anything we've thrown at it. we anticipated needing 5 of these, but so far 3 are doing everything needed, with plenty of capacity to spare.
Pros:virtualization, high-load dbs, cpu intensive media processing

Yes, I would recommend this product
We've been running 2970's since they were released and we have been very pleased with them. We're big AMD fans now!

Yes, I would recommend this product
love the AMD chips, great VMware engines.
Pros:great price/performance, excellent features, very versatile
Cons:wish it had a split backplane option
