Title: A good deal
Date: June 15, 2008
ProsEasy to use, set up, and a good price.
ConsI was a little disappointed with the accuracy especially with the pre-loaded POI, many are off and if you are in an unfamiliar area looking for something grab a local phone book and find the correct address before you go.

Title: will get you in and out of city
Date: May 19, 2008
ProsLoads quickly and is operable without having to study a owners manual. easy to adjust route just by advoiding a part of route. Will recalulate the route from your current position without constantly telling you to "TURN AROUND". Great for getting around in the City.
ConsSuction cup will not stay put, Keeps falling off. (a little velcro will fix it if you are mounting to the dash) not real easy to correct addresses. Still havent been able to correct mine. Tends to follow the major highways, ie interstates and ingnores the secondary ones even though the interstates carry you way out of the way.
Review:Great driving tool. I bought the 720 so i could connect with my phone, but it has no voice commands such as dial number. you can talk and hear through it but you have to manually dial the numbers which is not safe while driving. the next model up cost too much. (I refuse to wear one of thoes things in my ear, it looks stupid)

Title: An Excellent Unit at a Great Price
Date: April 9, 2008
ProsIncludes voice recognition, although the feature is not documented. Simple, easy to use set up and interface. Spoken directions from the device are clear and understandable. Traffic and weather updates available with a compatable bluetooth phone connection, or an outboard adapter and subscription.
ConsBeautiful screen still hard to see in some direct sunlight situations. Traffic service requires $60 per year fee and is not available in all cities.
Review:For a few dollars more, the TT920 offers the European maps, but I was not interested in that feature.

Title: Tom Tom 720
Date: March 26, 2008
ProsThis a really nice GPS instrument...... Cant imagine how you would need one to do more. I have been very impressed at how quick it figures directions and if you dont follow them because of traffic or something..... it recalculates very fast!
ConsThe only con I can think of, is the maps could be a little more up to date. (missing a new fwy thats been open for 7 months)

Title: The Best Value I've Found...
Date: March 24, 2008
ProsReviewed this product in person at a local Circuit City... Came recommended by the salesman. Best price found at dell.com for $350... Everything you need in a GPS incuding voice commands; Says the street name instead of "Turn Right" etc.... Great value and exceptionally fast shipping (which was free)... Still getting used to all the features... many points of interest. There is actually probably more features than we will end up using.
Consnothing yet... does everything we expected it to

Title: tomtom 720
Date: March 10, 2008
ProsGreat unit, would buy again. Sound quality is loud and clear. Directions were right on the mark. I've tried one of the other famous brands and thought the sound was terrible, directions were terrible. With the TomTom you are able to avoid certain individual streets or areas with the other you are only able to avoid highways, toll roads etc. The only thing I liked about the Garmin was the Windshield holder.
ConsNeed better Windshield holder. Would be nice if it would announce the Exit number. Sometimes hard to see with sun glasses on. Ned to be able to save route to favorites including the avoid areas.

Title: Only GPS Module I'll ever use again
Date: February 17, 2008
ProsEverything! I mean it... I've used many GPS units before, but TomTom is the final manufacturer for me. The GO series has always been the best for value, but the new 720 really takes it over the top. The widescreen, bluetooth, live traffic and free updates from TomTom's website gives you everything you'll need from a GPS module.
ConsNone Ever

ProsThis is my first GPS and I'm very satisfied. I'm impressed with the number of POI's and the accuracy of the maps is better than I expected. The fast processor quickly recalculates routes if you miss a turn. The Mapshare feature is really a great idea because it allows for constant updating of POIs and streets due to construction. My experience with the Bluetooth phone connection was easy and straightforward and it works well. I haven't tried the MP3 player so I don't know how well that works, but I didn't buy it for that feature anyway.
ConsI purchased the TMC-RMD antenna for traffic updates before I realized the service is only available in certain cities, and mine isn't one of them yet. As they're always expanding the service, I'm hoping it will be available here soon, but TomTom should make that limitation clearer.

Title: Can you hear me now?
Date: January 31, 2008
ProsGood directions, voice prompts great and accurate, easy to use interface, lots of features, nice small size, SC card slot, great software, can install voice recognition on this unit too! Downloaded my phone book into the tomtom for hands-free calling (but see cons below).
ConsCan't hear phone calls well enough using the Tomtom. FM transmitter is not very good either, even with the volume at 100% on both the Tomtom and stereo the sound is not very loud, in addition to static no matter which channel I use. Even using the line out, the volume is an issue. Because of this I am considering returning this for a lesser model since it was a waste of money to pay for features that don't work very well.
Review:IF the volume weren't an issue I'd be very happy. It seems like an obvious issue that should've been fixed before it hit the market.

Title: TomTom GO 720
Date: December 10, 2007
ProsExcellent device. I've not had any problem using this GPS to get where I need to go. The text to speech is good and helps that you don't have to really look at the device for the directions. The FM Transmitter works well and sounds much better coming through the stereo speakers, though the internal speaker works well.
ConsI am able to connect to my bluetooth phone and hear incoming calls, but the caller is only able to hear static. However, my phone is not on the supported phone list at TomTom, so I hope this will be corrected in future updates.
