Review:This is a review for the Panasonic 42" TC-P42X1 720p Plasma TV. This was my first flat screen tv. I researched quite a bit. I went to several stores, Bestbuy, Sears ect. to view all the Tv's. I researched consumer reports. First I had to decide on a size. 42" is perfect for my family room. Second lcd v. plasma. Both are nice tv's. My Sister has a 52" lcd. A really nice tv. I decided on the plasma, mainly because it was a couple hundred cheaper. The picture is very good. There's no "burn in" or anything like that. And theres no glare. I bought this on black Friday from dell. It was on sale. I used Bing cashback to get an even better deal. Dell shipping is fast and reliable. I'm very happy with the TV. But if money isn't an issue I'd probably go with an LCD.

Review:I got this tv on black friday weekend on sale ($564.00). It was cheaper than lcd tv's of same size. Very clear picture in hd. I use it in family room with a lot of windows and light coming in the room and have no problem seeing the picture. Easy to set up. Sports and movies are great to watch. It takes a few seconds for the picture to come on when you turn it on but no big deal. I did not realize that widescreen movies would not fill up the entire screen and was concerned of image burn in but i can see no difference after watching movies(or any other show that does not fill up the entire screen).

Review:I first bought this tv for my son for Christmas, and I seen how good the picture was and ease of operation I purchased one for myself. The SD card slot is great for looking at photos. I found mine on Dell.com and paid a lot less. I got my son a 37 LCD and I got the 42 Plasma, and both pictures are incredible, very clear and nice color contrast. I have mine on the wall in my bedroom.I would highly recommend this tv.

I bought this T.V. for only $500 shipped during a special offer just prior to Thanksgiving 2009. It has good color, great black levels and a very easy set up.
Cons
There is a slight focus problem in HD that causes the T.V. to have to adjust during fast motion. The colors also can be a little too bright in some scenes.
Review
This T.V. is an awesome deal at the $500 price range if you like plasma. I do and this T.V. produces a much better picture than all but the most expensive backlit LCD or OLED T.V. sets. Though there is a slight adjust during some high speed sporting events I believe this is only because I have son't have the picture set to sporting events as I would like a little break-in time before engaging that setting. At this size, and the current content availability, 720p is a real bargain. It is much better than the LCD sets my parents and in-laws bought just a few years ago at a third of the price. If you are looking for a good picture in a medium sized room this is the best deal out there. You can always move it into a kids room or spare room later as technology develops.

Review:I purchased this model after learning of a $250 off deal for 1 day only and looked into the deal further. I had already owned another 42" LCD HDTV which is approaching 3 years old. The Panasonic was to be a second TV for our family room however after getting the Panasonic plasma we decided it would be our BEST HDTV and moved the old one to the family room. The picture quality on the plasma is better that our LCD HDTV and I would recommend the purchase of this model highly, and for the one day only deal of $499 with free shipping - - I have not seen such a deal since.

Review:The picture is outstanding for a 720p -- HD and Blueray both look amazing. I doubt that any normal person could tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on this, or any, 42" TV. Lets face it, if you are building a home theater room you are not looking for a 42" TV. It's a great value!

Review:I needed a smaller tv and found this 42" plasma at a good price (price promotion was then lowered by $25 dollars only a couple of days later, which saddened me). Anyways this is a great tv that rivals higher end lcd screens. I guess I have been made a fan of plasma TVs because whenever i watch tv on the plasma I enjoy it more than when I watch on lcd screens. The picture seem softer and more natural on the plasma screens. Even though plasma screens use more energy I find the trade off worth it because the viewing experience is much better. Of course the sound isnt that great so you will need to hook up to a surround sound system to truely enjoy the HD experience.

As one of the other reviewers noted, I too was dissappointed a little with the lack of availability of and accuracy of delivery information from the carrier. Other carrier tracking systems create a higher standard to meet.

Review:The 42" X1 is the perfect balance between value and quality. 720P resolution is good enough for a television this size and I am very happy with the X1's rich contrast on dark colors.
HD on this tv is great and barely any blur motion when watching sports. I have also used this tv with PS3 for gaming and have not had any burn in issues.

Review:I caught this TV on sale for $499. It's the perfect size for our living room. It has enough inputs for the satellite, PS2 and our new Wii. The picture is great for sports and gaming. The picture is very sharp. I love the fact that it saves your picture preferences for each input so you don't have to change it each time you switch between devices. For that price, I thought I would have to settle, but I think this is a great TV overall.

Review:This Panisonic Plasma TV is awesome. I can't think of anything bad to say about it. The picture is perfect. The sound from the tv is good on its own, but I have it hooked up to a receiver. As far as some that complain about the audio output only being digital; digital is the way to go anyway it is much better than analog and what you want with a tv like this anyhow. As far as dell, great customer service, great price (did't even see a better price on black friday and believe me I was looking). The shipping was super fast tv came in 2 days (couldn't believe it) the guys brought the tv inside. The box was in great shape you could tell they handled it very well. I am extremely pleased. You should buy this tv no question about it.

Review:I bought this TV to be part of a new game room in the basement for my kids. I mounted it into the wall with a 1/2" Plexiglas screen in front of it (as they still play soccer down there). We have used it for Wii, PS3, OTA TV, and BluRay movies. It has been fantastic for all applications. The picture is amazing, it has no trouble keeing up with frentic gameplay, and the sound is fine. Highly recommended.
On the shipping side, I guess I am spoiled by UPS-style updates. I kept checking status on the link Dell provided, but there was almost no information available from the bulk shipping service. They gave an anticipated date and that was it (and updates may take 3 days to post). It did come through on the expected date, but it was still less positive experience than I'm used to with smaller packages.

Review:Bought this plasma at a great price. I went to plasma for movie and sports viewing. Plasma skin tones seem to be very accurate. Great picture right out of the box. Picture not "cartoony" like many LCD sets. 720P is as good or better than LCD in a set of this size, so it seems to me. Very easy on the eyes. I have no 1080P source material so 1080P would be overkill. Also, the set arrived via freight in pristine condition. Great factory packaging.
Set is on a stand in a corner of a room 11X12. Perfect for this size room. Sound is very acceptable. I am a recovering audiophile, so I am not tempted to play with home theater systems these days. I am now keeping it simple. Life is good!
