Title: So close to perfect... Date: December 3, 2009
Product Uses: Gaming, photo editing/design, daily use

Review:I purchased this monitor on a Cyber Monday sale for 159 dollars with free shipping. I was slightly hesitant, fearing I'd receive a monitor with dead/stuck pixels. To my delight, I plugged it in and Windows 7 immediately recognized and correctly set my resolution. I then pulled up photoshop to do some quick tests for any dead pixels and found none. The monitor's picture and aesthetic were magnificent.

Then, just a few hours later, the thing started to emit a high-pitched, headache-inducing buzz that wouldn't go away. I changed the refresh rate, resolution, brightness and even the power cord to no avail. When I "jiggled" the power cord I could tell that the problem lied with a poorly-built power inverter in the back of the monitor. I soon after set up a refund.

If it didn't buzz, I'd be extremely satisfied with the product. Franky, I'm pretty upset to see the monitor go. But from what I read, the buzzing I experienced isn't an isolated occurrence (particularly with Samsungs), so buy at your own risk.

Title: Great - with digital connection Date: August 14, 2009
Review:I'll keep it simple. The #1 most important thing about this monitor is to use the DVI connection, not the analog. With an analog connection the screen showed a pulsating flicker. Sometimes it was minimal, sometimes it was very apparent and became distracting / annoying.

Using the DVI connection, the display is noticeably crisper w/ no hint whatsoever of the flicker problem.

Overall the display is bright, shows rich colors and pretty deep blacks. The display seems very fast and shows no signs of blurred motion.

Also - make sure to use the color balancing app that comes with the monitor to adjust the colors. It makes a noticable difference.

Title: Great Monitor Date: July 19, 2009
Product Uses: great colors sharpness and contrast, easy to assemble, easy to calibrate, great price $179 (free shipping) arrived in 5 days

Review:I use this monitor primarily for photo editing and it has great definition and colors. I am using mine in analog mode since my laptop does not have a DVI output.

I calibrated it with spyder and it looks great and extremely sharp.

I went from a Samsung 19" wide screen to this 23" and it seems like a huge jump but not too big for my desk.

I use this in a darkened room for photo editing and if you think it is too bright, you probably need to calibrate it.

Cons:
I had a little bit of a problem with it straight out of the box. When I adjusted my pc settings to use the highest resolution, the text was jittery. I got fed up and used the reset settings in the firmware and it started to work fine and has since.

It's a great monitor

Title: First time with Dell ! Date: July 9, 2009
Review:I'm very satisfied with this monitor to say the least. This is going on my wife's desk/slingbox setup.
Maybe I'm not super-critical but the quality is superb and combined with the great price, < $160 shipped, I wish I had bought 2! Dell blew me away when I ordered it on a Monday afternoon and it was here waiting for me on Wednesday....with free shipping....good grief, Thanks Dell!

Title: Great Monitor Date: July 9, 2009
Review:Pros:
-Excellent picture quality
-Very bright
-Great colors
-50,000:1 Contrast ratio
-Matte screen, so no reflection problems
-Very attractive bezel, matches my Samsung TV

Cons:
-Settings need some adjustment out of the box
-Can be too bright in a dark room, must change settings
-No integrated speakers
-No HDMI (although can use a HDMI-to-DVI converter, but without the audio)
-16:9 ratio a bit strange coming from 16:10 monitors.

I use it with a Mac Mini... if you do, change the color settings to custom, and run the calibration tool with a Gamma of 2.2. Anyone complaining about their colors should use a tool (software and/or hardware) to calibrate the colors for any monitor... especially if you intend to do any photo editing for print.

Title: Not impressed, but satisfied Date: June 16, 2009
Product Uses: Gaming

Review:PROS:
Price- at least what I paid. $100 off promotion and then another $15 dollar couple. Think I paid around $169 for this which is comparable to bargain Acer brand monitors 2 inches smaller.

Look- deep, shiny black frame, looks more like a TV than a monitor.

CONS:
Unimpressed with contrast/brightness. I figured buying a Samsung, this would be the least of my worries, but I find the colors somewhat flat, especially the blacks. The manual adjustments don't seem to do much and messing around with gamma, brightness, contrast on games only gives modest results. Color wise my 19" dell looks much sharper.

Doesn't raise. The monitor sits quite low off its base and cannot be raised unless you want to put a phone book under it or your desk it especially high, prepare to be looking slightly down into this display (and I'm not tall, 5'9").

Overall, considering the size and the discount price this is a solid monitor, but I wouldn't pay retail for it expecting the kind of Samsung quality I've seen in their LCD TVs.

Title: Awesome Monitor that you want to have Date: April 30, 2009
ProsThis monitor is great for watching a movie. Perfect 16:9 ratio gives you great screen without any letter boxes on the top and bottom. Fast response time (5ms) gives no ghost and picture quality is awesome. I think this is the largest and widest monitor that most home users want to have. Larger than this monitor on the desk might get your eyes tired.
ConsNo HDMI, but it is not a big deal for me. No speakers, but who's going to like 2W speakers in other monitors? Just buy a cheap computer speaker set (~$20), they might work better than built in monitor speakers.

Most of people who purchased this monitor complains about mounting the screen on the stand. I was struggling for couple minutes, but I successfully mounted. I was lucky. I didn't use any lubrication. All you have to do is follow the steps on the box or manual. Smoothly push down the screen on the stand with 5~10' angles from vertical as described in the box or manual and push left a little more and then right, left and right.....You'll feel that it is securely mounted on the stand in few seconds. If you have one more person to grab the stand or help you somehow, it might be really helpful.

Review:If Samsung attaches the little mount thing on the screen when they pack, it will reduce complains from customers a lot.

Title: Perfect for Our House!! Date: April 23, 2009
ProsSharp clear picture and colors, no dead pixels, great looks, great price, easy setup
ConsNothing major, but refresh rate adjustability in widescreen would be nice...not critical...but nice

Review:My wife and I are just your average everyday users...mostly document, spread sheet, internet, and some movies and photos...the increased real estate is simply awesome. Setup was simple and quite honestly we had no problems getting it dialed in (to our liking), and we do not fiddle with it much so buttons and menus are not an issue. So far we love it!!

Title: Best deal ever Date: March 19, 2009
Prosweight
1920x1080 native
swivel and tilt
comes with everything you need
awesome color and picture representation for price
Consno height adjustment but not a factor for me
and the blue light on the bottom is big and annoying when your PC is off it blinks.
Also the cabinet is so glossy the edge around the screen shows reflection but not too annoying.

Review:I have several monitors and by far my 24" Dell I bought 3 years ago has spoiled me to criticize this monitors flaws. the difference between 23.3 inches and 24 is a lot! Its squatier and oh so slightly wider because of the max 1080p I am spoiled on 1200. Other than that its a great buy for what I picked it up for, $149 shipped! :)
