Review:I'm not a seasoned amateur, so my review is tailored to the inexperienced shooter who wants a camera that will inspire him to take more shots.
This one does it for me. I shopped around for a long time.
In choosing a camera, I was looking primarily for build quality and responsiveness. This camera has very little lag time between shots. It's refreshing, after having used a very limited PowerShot 'A' series camera for so long, to finally use a camera that takes a photo when I want it to (as opposed to waiting interminably for the shutter to go). With the A series, I never got the shot I wanted; half the time, my subject's had left the frame; heck, they'd left the state.
In addition, this camera feels great in your hand. You don't want to put it down. The photos themselves: Stunning. Go to a brick-and-mortar store where you can actually hold the G-10 and you will fall in love with it.

Review:As someone who owns a long succession of Canon dslr cameras, finding something that would even come slightly close to picture quality and responsiveness is a challenge. I wanted something small that would fit in my purse for those random shots that you always say "I wish I would have had my camera"...but at the same time don't want to lug said dslr around. Canon's G10 fits the bill. I'm quite happy.

ProsGreat price for pic quality you get. rugged design. Great display.
ConsStrap is kind of on the cheap side, but it works good for what it is. Screen is nice and big, but easily scratched or smudged prints on it. Need to provide protective covers or stickers for the screen. I had to buy it on ebay.

ProsSo far this is the best point and shoot camera I have. I bought HP camera last year and the camera broke without any mishandling. Canon G10 has solid body, good features and above all produce incredible pictures. I will buy one again for my wife during her birthday and I guarantee she will fall in love with it.

Review:I will suggest to anybody who want quality camera to spend a little bit more to get G10. They will be glad they bought it.
