ProsThe Xbox 360 is a wonderful machine, nd this is the core to get you started. I sold my original xbox and a few non-backwards-compatible games, and almost had enough for my 360! Great value and a fair price. ConsThe lack of hard drive. I figured I would buy one down the road, and I still will, but it would be handy to already have. But hey, I got to play 360 games out of the box, and just have to wait for a few extra features.
Review:Overall, I love the direction Microsoft went here, and on a side note, Nintendo with the Wii. There's a lot of games on the PS3 I'd love to play, but the price tag is just far too hefty. I've found new favorites on the cheaper systems!

Review:I bought this on sale for $160, got a used hard drive and popped $100 for the wifi hardware, and I am having a blast. Found most everything I've needed on sale, including Live Gold membership, so people that are complaining about it not being free, nothing in life that is worth it is free. Digging the online content, no issues as of yet.

ProsGreat starter for the price from dell. And I got this on the second business day! Ordered Tuesday 9pm and got this on Thursday afeternoon. ConsNo hard drive, Xbox live $50 for 12+1 Month. Something to think about.
Review:Why choose( PS3 or Xbox 360), just buy both and in the long run you will be saving money on the games. They are always having a price war between those two on their games.

Review:I have owned and love every version of Sony Playstation. I didn't own Xbox and decided to purchase Xbox 360 because of the exclusive zombie games. Comparing the two, Xbox 360 nickel and dimes the consumer to pay for online gaming, controller charging cables, hard drives, wireless internet adapters and the system is significantly louder than the PS3.

ProsI received the Jasper chip. Very stylish console, a bit bigger than expected. Dell shipping and coupon codes made it worth the buy. This is the best deal you can find currently. Added Dell support makes this even better. Wireless controller came with batteries. ConsDVD Reader is loud! Its almost like it wants me to know its working hard. No backwards support for xbox or controllers. Comes with a special RCA or Composite cable which can't be replaced with a non Microsoft product. Some of the arcade games are demos only - so you play a couple times and they lock you out until you buy it online. I'm not super happy about having to purchase Solitaire. Online services are not free. No hard drive.
Review:The new jasper chip makes me worry less about overheating. Since this is the basic model, there is a hidden price of around $100 just to get you set for peripherals. I'm slowly starting to feel like I should have got a ps3, since it would have cost less in the end.

ProsThe arcade version works for me. I bought the hard drive on eBay for $35; saved cash there instead of ponying up for the Xbox 360 $300 version. Don't pay full price at local stores (GameStop, Walmart, Target, etc.) when Dell has continuous coupon deals going on. ConsTook 5 days to ship, but worth the savings.

Title: A great replacement, or first time gift.

ProsUses the new JESPER chipset. Comes with HDMI Comes with internal storage. Still compatable all Xbox 360 harddrives. Uses less energy than revision one or revision two models. Quieter Comes with a few decent games. ConsPossibly low life-span. Replacement for eight failed 360s. DRM for downloaded titles is still a pain.
Review:I've never had a good run with Xbox 360s. Started with my original in 2005, which red-ringed within a year and was replaced. Had many others replaced along the way until now, in 2009. I finally bought a completely new 360 that would offer me a full 3-year warranty, an HDMI port, a few games, and (surprisingly) internal storage.
It was relatively easy to set up, though it uses a new power supply, so I couldn't just use the old one. But the lack of heat and noise over the old ones is quite noticeable and a godsend.
Digital content downloaded over Xbox Live is still a pain to try and get moved to your current 360. I have spent years (since 2006) to get my content tied back to me, but at the moment I still do not have access to my own videos which are stilld ownloaded.

Review:I purchased my xbox on Jan. 2nd, 2009. I received the new revision, known as "Jasper". This has a cooler running Graphics chip, which should hopefully eliminate the "Red Ring of Death" which has plagued the 360 since launch. MS launched the "NXE" dashboard for xbox in November. This update allows you to copy your games to the hard drive, and to play your games from there (game disc is required to be in the drive, it functions as a key). This keeps the xbox quieter, as the dvd drive is infrequently accessed anymore.

ProsWonderful High Def graphics and a large library of games. Good value for the money. ConsI ordered this before Christmas and ended up getting the old falcon chip set model which still runs hot and most likely will eventually lead to the dreaded red ring of death error. Perhaps I got old stock because as of the end of October, Microsoft is making only the new Jasper chip set which runs MUCH cooler. It's a drag to get the old model :-(

ProsI bought this for my nephew for Christmas and was able to take advantage of a 15% off deal. Making this the best price found anywhere. I was able to get a refurbished 20GB hardrive with 3 months of Xbox Gold for $30.00 from Microsoft. ConsEven though I received a Jasper, I am still a little leery with Microsoft quality.

ProsThe no frills Arcade version is meant for casual gamers who don't care for media storage and don't spend much time gaming online. I don't need a headset, network cable, and hdmi cable so I went for the arcade version. However, the hard drive is desirable, so I bought a refurbished 20GB HD with wireless controller separately for $40 at circuit city! $240 beats $299 for the pro pack. Save the $60 and get some games. ConsThe DVD-ROM is extrememely loud when playing games. The only remedy is to pick up a separate hard drive and copy games to it so the DVD-ROM and reduce the noise. Go to circuit city like I mentioned above. If it's not available, go to the Xbox website. They sell the 20GB hard drive for $30 with 3 month Xbox live gold membership.
Review:The one I got from Dell is the JASPER version. Supposedly the JASPER model runs cooler and prevents the much feared Red Ring of Death from occurring.

Review:Consumers are always trying to minimize costs, a noble goal. But to do so at the cost of good customer support is foolish. Dell has always provided top quality customer support and I highly recommend that people do business with Dell for this reason alone. After all, if you have $5 or $10 bucks but get poor customer service, you have only yourself to blame.

ProsPrice. Massive Game Selection and a lot under $20. Best Controller ever made & wireless. Plays Divx and media from USB device. Media extender. Great Graphics ConsI could not get HDMI to DVI to work on my DVI-D tv I have to use component but I guess I'm not losing much quality, still looks great. Only comes with composite cables but I'm not complaining for this price. The joysticks do start to squeak after playing a bit
Review:Received console next business day. Got this 15% off then did the 29.99 20GB MS HD promotion. So I basically got a premium for $200, can't beat that. Add an external usb hard drive with media and you got a great media player. Plays Divx movies and shows and mp3's.

ProsOrdered on first week of December '08. It arrived timely and in good packaging from Dell. Contained the console, 6-in-1 games disc, the Rock Band 2 disc, controller, memory card, and PSU as advertized. The kids were ecstatic! ConsOnline gaming with the 360 is not free, unlike the Wii or PS3. We were hoping for the newer "Jasper" hardware revision of the Xbox360 - less power/heat and has the memory stick integrated - but got the older "Falcon" hardware revision instead.
Review:Will need to buy instruments for RB2, and a hard drive and subscription to play online. Hoping the hardware reliability issues with the 360 have already been resolved with the revision we recieved. Microsoft's warranty is decent, and the price was right, so we decided to dig in to this one for the winter.
