ProsEasy to get good pictures of general things using Intelligent Auto feature. Great zoom range from wide/tele lens. It can go from macro to tele automatically instead of needing to press a button (yet still has a macro button available for non-auto). Right size for pockets and holding (varies person to person, I'm sure). Flash seems to do well, however...
ConsFlash can get blocked if not careful to keep fingers away from it. Has many settings which can be confusing at first, namely how the Intelligent ISO and Auto ISO are used, and iconic symbols for things.
Auto or Scene selection camera versus manual control (such as no shutter speeds, apertures, focus), yet does have a couple ways to make changes (like exposure compensation), so for example if you want to make photos of waterfalls in daylight with a motion blur you'll find it difficult if not impossible.
Review:I want to be critical and not say this is a great camera simply because I had two at once for comparisons and found picture quality varied between them.
One has a horizontal smear effect on the left side of photos, mostly from bright/dark transitions. It appears to be from the far left edge inward, a width of about 1/8 to 1/4 of the whole picture. Other was on the right side, only half that, yet overall photos from it were softer and also warmer (more red).
Meaning... apparently there's plenty of variance camera to camera. Although, these things weren't completely obvious at reduced size (~50% or less). There's this 9 megapixel image but even with more perfect clarity the graininess or noise of the CCD doesn't allow for large viewable sizes without degrading the image anyhow. Just pointing out that the original size this camera creates is usually much larger than needed when printing or viewing (except posters and on big HDTV's).
