Review:I just replaced my old Dell PDA with this new one. I literally wore my old one out. I use my PDA every day, all day, as part of my work environment. The programs I use continually change and need to receive frequent updates. This PDA is easy to use, easy to update & compact while still easy to read and manipulate. Some of my colleagues have switched to Blackberries & regret their choice, as the "bells & whistles" make access to our programs more difficult to manage. Thank you, Dell, for keeping this user-friendly for a non-Geek like me.

Proseasy to use, large and clear audio, video ability is also appreciate. what's more, the case can be said with rugged feature, so if you drop it, don't worry, you will lose nothing, everything works well.
Consthe WiFi should be strengthened, but this feature depends on your wireless router, some times, I can connect to the Netgear router, but lose connectivity when the dlink router is near the way.

Proseasy to use, has a lot of features!! easily download software to your SD card--the memory of the actual device is small, but with the right SD card you can put a lot on here...
Conshard to set up--disc did NOT work with my computer, had to call tech support to set up--but was easy to set up afterwards...

ProsVery easy to use and Dell certainly picked a good simple product that synced easily. Great features and i use regularly at home and anywhere that i have WIFI access.
ConsMake sure you have at least a 4 gig SD card if you want to store music, photos etc. Video could be challenging but great for music.

Review:Great selection if you have access to WIFI areas.

ProsThis PDA is extremely user friendly. It came with everything you really need, including a case. The only thing I had to purchase was a SD card. I also did not pay for expedited shipping, but I received it the day after I purchased it!
ConsThe speakers are pretty quiet, but I didn't really buy it to use as a MP3 player.

Title: Excellent entry level PDA Date: September 17, 2008
ProsThis little toy (it really is surprisingly small) has the look and feel of a much more expensive PDA. It has a lot of features under the hood, and has been upgraded from the original Windows Mobile 5 to WM6, and has 256MB storage RAM instead of 128MB (the same 64MB application memory though). The 312Mhz CPU is enough for most applications but I found it chugged with some web sites and large videos.

Sync'd with Vista first time and got onto my secure Wifi network without any hassles. It downloaded e-books from the PC and Weatherbug and Skype software directly from the internet. Nearly everything I tried worked right away - and I didn't look at the manual until after I'd put the thing to bed!

Wifi access was fine on my machine and there was a decent download speed of large files (this is why I think the CPU was bogging down the web browsing).

The tap screen is responsive and accurate, and for many functions a finger works pretty well. text was clear even on a relatively small font size, and the layout is pretty customizable - even down to programming the four hard-keys at the bottom of the screen. It can switch from portrait to landscape views, although the on-screen keyboard can obscure some of the settings views ironically enough.

Bluetooth worked great for sending files, syncing and installing software. The Office suite is compatible with the latest Office 2007, with a free download from Microsoft. I liked the ability to edit and create files, including charts in Excel!!
ConsStreaming video from the web wasn't working, although some online discussions say there may be either software or network settings that might fix that issue.

The bluetooth remote presenter software, meant to control PowerPoint, worked fine on Windows XP but does NOT seem to work with Vista. This isn't a deal-breaker for me as I have a dual-boot system :)

Mobile Office Powerpoint is read only :( The only other thing I wondered about was whether ASUS would supply the Windows 6.1 upgrade...apparently not.

Review:The HP iPAQ 110 series has very similar features and is only slightly more expensive. It can read SDHC cards without a software patch, and has a much faster CPU. The iPAQ 100 doesn't have IrDA, for what it's worth.

Overall I'm very happy with this little toy :o)

Title: Excellent as a PDA, wireless useless Date: September 10, 2008
ProsEasy to use familiar Windows interface

Battery life excellent with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned off. I have mine set to turn off when not in use for more than 30 seconds, so taking notes in meetings doesn't seem to suck up much juice when I"m away from my desk. I don't use it constantly, so battery life hasn't been an issue.

Synchs easily with Windows PC calendar and other MS Office apps.

Very good sound quality for playing music. (I need to figure out still how to get

Good resolution, although my naked 20-40 eyesight is not good enough to distinguish clubs from spades in the solitaire game :-)

Solid feel, high quality protective sleeve, and spare stylus are bonuses.
ConsNot enough memory on the 626 to view my hi-res mpeg collection. Videos were uselessy choppy and jolting.

Wi-Fi signal is very weak, cannot connect at any of the million hotspots around Austin, and I can't find documentation either on the ASUS website or anywhere else to explain what the error messages I"m getting are. My wireless at home is locked down, good luck trying to find out the "MAC Address" of your device to whitelist it in your router. I did eventually, after hours of googling and rooting around on the device itself's wi-fi settings.

Product documentation is sparse and not written by native speakers of English. The manual that came with was useless for diagnosing my wi-fi problems. There's no troubleshooting advice.

Review:I might upgrade in the future to a model with more RAM, but only if I could be convinced my videos would play without jerking, and if the wireless actually worked without having to be standing next to a router.

Sometimes it freezes, and once, I had to reset it.

ProsA simple to use, very functional and attractive pda for basic work managment.
ConsWeak Wi-Fi signals fluster the system. Can't handle complex mobile programs like Yahoo! Go 2.0 without numerous glitches; but runs flawlessly with Wi-Fi shut off.

Review:The first Asus 626 ran poorly right from the box. Dell replaced it no questions asked. This unit runs very well. An attractive, basic, work companion at a very good price.

Title: Great Little device Date: May 5, 2008
ProsI bought one for my wife for Christmas, and I was so impressed with functionality of it that I had to buy one for myself. I am a Plant manager, and we use Outlook not only for email, but also for the calendar to schedule production, shipping and receiving, along with other meetings. Our inventory is done on excel, so I can just grab this and head out to the warehouse to do inventory with. At the end of the day I just sync it and go. All the information I need for work is with me 24/7. Video quality is pretty good as so is the audio. It is not an MP3 player per say, but does have pretty good sound quality.
ConsWiFi could be a little stronger. It seems I have to be within at least 10 to 15 feet of a wireless router in order to pick it up and with no walls in the way.

Review:It has work like a charm for me. Blue tooth, sync, wireless and for the price, you can't go wrong.

ProsThis is a wonderful pocket PC. Considering it's on the cheaper side, what you get is wonderful. Internet access, Office, syncing and so much more. It's not a MP3 so I'm not expecting awesome sound but the sound it provides is perfect for what it is. Just love it and it has helped me stay on top of things!

Title: Perfect PDA Date: January 8, 2008
ProsFeature Cost Ratio (no other pda I have seen comes close to this price)
Windows Mobile 6.0 (tons of add-ons and support available, comes with office mobile)
Internal Wireless G Card (not B, YES...)
Viewable in Portrait or Landscape (I almost always use landscape except for word or excel)
Asus Device Status Software (Gives a very nice quick glance of performance with shortcuts to settings)
Very good letter recognition and transcriber features
Full function multimedia capable (DiVX, WMA, WMv, AVI, MPG, MP3, etc)
ConsShort usb sync cable (easy to find a longer one though)
Onboard speaker is for private environment (very good sound with earphones)

Review:I guess I am part of a dying breed that just wants a pda. We have company issue nextel phones, so this device allows me to accomplish all I need and then some fun. I am an IT Manager by trade and am able to do all the remote functions I need after I downloaded the add-on for remote desktop. Windows Mobile 6 is very nice and gives me the ability to sync my business email/calendar/contacts through Outlook with EASE and also track as many personal POP accounts as I want. All of which stays totally sepearte from each other. I bought a 2GB SD card and have plenty of multimedia ready to go. I found the trick to movies is convert them from DVD/large format down to the correct WMV resolution and they play great! If you have any questions, I can be reached at michael at msldesigns dot com.
