Title: An Amazing Gaming/Movie/Internet Machine Date: July 25, 2007
ProsAfter comparing the cost vs. other comparable systems, there was no doubt this was the best deal for the money. Built-in wireless and etherent, HDMI, optical, USB, Card readers. I can add a keyboard and mouse, even a printer. It even allows me to install my own OS to use with the system. It syncs up with WMP so I can listen to my music. The options that are available are incredible.
ConsNone that I have come across.

Review:The up-conversion of my DVDs is wonderful. I'm watching many of my older movies, that I hadn't watched for quite some time. I'm seeing things I missed now that it is clearer and bigger. No more 32" TV with the black bars, I'm using a projector and have a 6' wide-screen window of crystal clear viewing. My old PS games work better than I remember on my original Playstation. Graphics are a bit blocky, but game play and load time never was better.

Title: The Best and (Unfortunately) the Most Underrated Date: July 16, 2007
ProsOut the box you see the pros: it looks amazing and demands attention with its shiny black and chrome frame and its heat sensor buttons but it really starts to shine once you get this beast hooked up and ready to go. Music, movies, photos, playstation store (demos, trailers, and new downloable games), a great web browser. thats w/o anything to play! on the hardware front: blu-ray player, wifi built-in, connect products by usb (keyboard, mouse, ps2 contollers, ipod, psp), or bluetooth (headset, mouse, or keyboard), up to 1080p resolution output, and 3 hidden card slots.
ConsThe price (but for what you get i think its a steal), not that many great games exclusive to it to play right now. A lot of people bash it because the 360 has the same games but i didn't get it just for games. and i do not think that the 360 (as it is now) will be around for years to come since its limits (disk space and hardware set up) are being pushed already. the 360 is a good "right now and cheaper" next-get gaming solution. ps3 games are on blu-ray disks that allow games like "Stranglehold" to include the movie "hard boiled" in 1080p HD all on the same disk! dvd can't do that!

Review:Play games online for free, talk trash with your bluetooth headst to those you play, and because of the price drop, the games (killzone, drake's fortune, mgs4, heavenly sword, and all the same ones that are on the 360 also) shown at this years electronic entertainment expo (aka e3), home (look it up. you won't be disappointed) the ps3 is a great console to pick up. Plus the future games that you know you will get: a new exclusive game from epic (makers of gears of war), Kingdom Hearts games, God of war games, Final Fantasy games, Team ico's games (shadow of the colossus).

Title: Best of the Best Date: July 14, 2007
ProsOutstanding performance, quick, easy and routine updates, clean styling and value pricing, given the integral blu-ray feature. I was a died-in-the-wool PC gamer until this gizmo came down the pike - built my own, in fact, to keep abreast of the higher-end video cards. The PS3 and Resistance Fall of Man changed my religion. Easily upgraded the 20G drive on my first one to 120G and loved it so much I bought a 60G as well to have the SD slot and wireless internet connectivity for my office. Also own a Wii - cute and fun, but the PS3 is hard core.
ConsWith the recent updates having resolved early scaling issues, the only draw-back which remains is the temporarily limited game offering. Internet browser leaves something to be desired - though, in fairness, Mr. Gates my well have jaded me.

Review:As pleased as I am with the PS3 as a game console, I don't believe I fully appreciated my 52" projection HDTV until I started renting movies in the Blu-Ray format. This is a truly outstanding piece of equipment.

Title: ps3 sad on sonys part Date: July 14, 2007
Prosits has blue ray is think that is a good thiing and is hd ready.
ConsWell where do I start, I think that ps3 has good hardware setup just does not use it. the only that makes buy the ps3 over the ps2 is that the ps3 is hd. The Graphics are not that good look the same as ps2 on a no hd tv. So on that the Graphics are not better there just sharper thats it. i would pay a ps2 over a ps3 any day. They are makeing game for the ps2 still and the Graphics are good there almost as good as ps3 its so sad. Then we have sony with bad ps3 sales well its 500 bucks and u are still makeing ps2 games so lets take a look ps2 120 bucks game are still comeing out or 500 bucks for tiny bit better hmm. Then they put blue ray on it better hope it wins the hd war or ps3 is trashed.

Review:Well if sony can hold out on slow sales till ps2 game stop comeing out and if blue ray win they will have a good system. We all the wait and see if sony can pull head with this ps3 so called next gen system. I have to give sony one thing they did do a better job then xbox that is another nightmare there.

Title: THE FUTURE IS HERE... Date: July 13, 2007
ProsFirstly, the PS3 is a game unit, but so much more. With the announcement of the 60g price drop and that 400 titles are in the works- one wonders if the first-run last year was a 'BETA'! Over 100 titles are promised by quarter 1 of 2008- along with a brand new download store. I ran a full test on this monster- playing 'Oblivion' and 'Enchanted Arms' after playing both on the 360- and the difference was incredible. No game-locks, and in the case of 'Oblivion', smooth sharp transition screens and graphics that smash any other format playin this title. How?
It's the Motherbrain.
ConsI prefer cord-controllers. I have an easy chair and do not jump all over the house playing games. I tried the cordless and agree it is fine, but I will not be replacing any controllers until the brand new one with SHOCK is released.

Review:The Sony team took a hit for 1 year with this beast- but they listened to the core gamers that have been with them since 1997- and now is when the magic happens. All I can say is- BRING ON THE RPG'S!!!

Title: The PS3 is THE next gen console. Date: July 13, 2007
ProsThis is the best console that I have ever owned. Period. What seperates the PS3 from the Xbox 360 is its internal features. Unlike the Xbox. The PS3 features internal Wi-Fi,and internal bluetooth as well to give you the best possible wireless setup. You can buy a $99.00 external wireless adapter for the Xbox though. What really seperates the two consoles completely is the internal Blu-Ray drive which I must say is incredible. All I can say is 1080p. If you havent experienced hi def, then the PS3 is the definition of it. But of coarse,on the 360 you can buy a $199.00 HD-DVD player as an external accessorie. The PS3 online play is also free as well, unlimited. The 360? $59.00 for a 13 month subscription to Xbox Live. Nice hugh? Well lets not forget the PS3's HDMI ports,USB ports,Media Card reader and the capability to have up to 7 controllers on at once. Xbox does not deliver that. But i'm sure in the near future the 360 will have an EXTERNAL accessorie to buy, lol. The PS3 is THE next gen console.
ConsA lot of people say that the price is a big con,but let me just remind you that the cheapest stand alone Blu-Ray player on the market right now is $499,the Sony BDP-S300 series. So why not spend the same amount for a PS3 that comes with a Blu-Ray player? By the time you get done with the Xbox 360 and all of its accessories (console: $399,wireless adapter $99,HD-DVD player $199.00,Xbox Live (59.99 every 13 months.),you have spent $756+. And the Xbox still isnt even comparable. Do yourself a favor and buy this machine. The PS3. You will not regret it! I promise you.

ConsI JUST WISH THEY MAKE MORE GAMES FOR THE PLAYSTATION 3. I WISH THEY WOULD COME OUT WITH MORE SPORTS GAMES FOR IT.

Title: The Future Right Now! Date: July 2, 2007
ProsUnmatched Hi-Def quality games and Blu-Ray movies. The PS3 even upconverts old DVDs to higher quality image than my high-end progressive scan DVD player. The $500-$600 price tag that people complain about is actually one of the pros about PS3. If you don't like the price, I challenge you to find another Blu-Ray player on the market for anywhere near $500. Also, because it is so much more than just a Blu-Ray player, Sony is constantly releasing software upgrades to improve the performance and functionality of the PS3. No other Blu-Ray player offers such upgradeability. One last point is the the PS3 is capable of playing burned Blu-Ray disc copies, whereas currently many other Blu-Ray devices have difficulty with burned Blu-Ray discs. In summary, the PS3 is a top-of-the-line Blu-Ray device for a bargain. It also plays the most advanced hi-def next-gen games, as well as being backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 games. In fact, Sony's latest PS3 software update (1.8.2) upconverts the graphics from old games to near hi-def quality to run on the powerful PS3 hardware. Since its now fairly obvious that Blu-Ray has beaten out HD-DVD as the next-gen media format, I can guarantee that you will not regret your decision to purchase a PS3.
ConsSlow game releases from Sony and partners so far; many release dates late and postponed.

Review:Even with the initial lag in the release of new PS3 games and Sony exclusive titles, there are still enough solid titles and variety of games to make it worthwhile to buy a PS3 now. Even using my PS3 primarily as a Blu-Ray player has been well worth it on my Sony 60" SXRD 1080p hi-def tv.

Title: the ps3 could be dead Date: June 30, 2007
Prosthe ps3 lppays blue ray disks.
Consthe ps3 does not play hd dvd. It also only plays blue ray disk. I think that is con do to the fack if blueray fail had hd dvd is the new standerd the ps3 will be put to dust. Then you have to look at the price its $600 bucks for this system that could be dead in a year. sony did this when vhs and bata were going it well guess what bata is dead. the graphics’ aree not that good the $250 we has the same graphics’ ar ps3 its sad what sony is waiting to show the true power of the ps3. Sony says that the ps3 has all advaced hardware ifs thats the case well use it lets see on 42" lcd. I would like to return my ps3 and get a wii at leat i know the wii will not be dead in a year and its some cash for games.

Review:sony needs look at the hole picture $600 is wat to much for the same graphics’ as all the other system on the market are more the half the cost.

Title: Excellent system Date: June 13, 2007
ProsFirst off, let me say I'm not a Sony fan. I hated the PS1 and PS2 and still do. I think they're garbage systems. But that doesn't change the fact that Sony has seriously outdone itself with the PS3. This machine is beautiful. I'm a huge Wii and 360 fan (I own the Wii and used to own the 360) and this definitely ranks right up there with both of those systems as far as I'm concerned. I was going to buy a 360 Elite but I decided to go with the PS3 because I really wanted the Blu-ray player also. It's looking like Blu-ray is going to be the "next thing" and not HD-DVD so I wanted to go ahead and switch over to Blu-ray. I would highly recommend the PS3 to anybody and while the price may be steep, you are getting a lot for it. That's why I gave it 4 stars on Cost-Benefit. On straight cost, I'd rank it a 1 or a 2. But you get a lot for that cost. Definitely buy this system if you want the future of gaming and entertainment right now.
ConsOnly knock on it is that for a $600 fully HD system to come with a regular AV cable is a bit cheap on Sony's part in my opinion. But considering their Component HD cable retails for only like $25 and Dell has it on here for like $17.99, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just make sure you get the Component cable, don't use this with the regular AV cable.

Title: A-MA-ZA-ZING Date: June 8, 2007
ProsWhere to start, well i have a 42 inch high def tv to start with and the graphics are amazing, crystal clear and it feels like u are actually in the game, on top of that the wireless controllers have really long battery life and for some games like call of duty the motion sensors make attacking (malee) much more natural. the home system is also fantastic, i have the 60 GB and i have movies our family photos, music, everything is on there. And if you think x-box is better, well sure they have halo but you have to pay for the hd dvd player and it doesnt even broadcast through an hdmi. So with the PS3 u get a 700 dollar blue ray player, a 400 Dollar game system, and with the new firm ware updates full audio support, and a dvd player that upscales all your dvds to 1080i which would cost another 400 dollars. And to top it off every game from PS1 and PS2 work plus they are also upscaled to 1080i. you can also demo almost twenty games by downloading them for free from Sony market place, fully playable high definition demos... thats what im talking about
Consnot to many fps at the moment but games like GTHD and ninja gaiden are coming out soon as well as warhawk... also no halo :( price, but if u think about it you are getting like $1500-$2000 worth of stuff

Review:this kicks you know what! i have had mine now since christmas and nothing has ever frozen, and i am broke now so i just get all the new demos and play them... haha beat the system!

Title: PS3 Date: May 27, 2007
ProsThe PS3 is as advertised - A multimedia powerhouse. With the web browsing, online play , great graphics, wireless controllers, not to mention it can play hi def dvds (if you even care for such a thing) $599 seems like a steal.
ConsPrice. Could be cheaper but considering all the things this machine is capable of doing, $599 isn't so bad. The batteries in the wireless controllers will eventually die FOR GOOD and you will have to play with them plugged in -(assuming you can do this after the batteries are totally dead) or go out a buy a new $50 controller. These controllers should be HALF that. They feel really generic without the rumble pack in there. I rated product lifespan a 4 and not a 5 cause I've only had it a week but if it lasts anywhere near as long as my trusty ps2, then it will be durable for years to come.

Review:I've had my PS3 for about a week now and so far have no major complaints at all. Runs quiet and as far as it running "hot" , it doesnt get any hotter than my HDDVR so no problem there. This machine is a beast and I love it. Considering XBOX360 or PS3? I'd obviously spend the extra money for the PS3 since the 360's are constantly having problems. My brother boasted about his for the last 3 months and then his started messing up on him. If it wasnt under warranty, he'd have to pay $140 to get it fixed. (he went out and got a PS3) You might as well spend that extra money upfront on a machine that wont melt down on you. Think about it - Sony has been doing console gaming a LOT longer than microsoft. Not knocking microsoft, I'm sure the 360 is awesome (when it works). They seem to still be trying to perfect their product.

Title: BRILLIANT SYSTEM......A MUST BUY Date: May 3, 2007
ProsBLUE RAY PLAYER, BACKWARD COMPATABLE WITH PS2 AND PS1,PLAYS DVDS AND CDS......THERES SIMPLY TOO MUCH THAT CAN BE WRITTEN POSITIVELY ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THIS AWESOME MACHINE. I USED DELLS 15% DISCOUNT TO PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM AND I AM PLEASED WITH IT AS I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW AFTER PLAYING A PLAYSTATION2 GAME ON IT FOR ABOUT AN HOUR. BY THE WAY THE GAME WAS "KILLZONE". MAYBE ITS JUST ME BUT THE GAME ACTUALLY LOOKED BETTER WITH THE PS3 AND MORE FLUID ON SCREEN. NOT TO MENTION I WAS PLAYING ON A REGULAR TV (480i) TV. I CANT WAIT TO TRY OTHER GAMES AFTER THIS REVIEW. I CANT TELL ALL YOU FOLKS HOW THRILLED I AM TO HAVE THIS SYSTEM. I WANT TO GET THE XBOX ELITE BUT I FEAR THAT IT WILL OVERHEAT AS SO MANY OTHER REVIEWS HAVE STATED. AS FOR THE OTHER REVIEWS I WILL SAY THAT I AM A HARDCORE PLAYSTATION FAN AND FOR ME THIS SYSTEM IS THE ONLY CHOICE FOR ME.
ConsTHE OBVIOUS .......THE PRICE... BUT REALLY FOLKS CONSIDERING WHAT ALL IT DOES FOR THE PRICE ITS REALLY A DEAL. IF YOU TRY TO INVEST IN AN XBOX WITH ALL THE SAME CAPABILITIES YOU WILL PAY MORE THAN YOU WILL FOR THIS SYSTEM. ALSO THE SYSTEM RUNNING A LITTLE WARM DOES CONCERN ME BUT KEEP THE SYSTEM IN AN OPEN AREA AND IT WILL BE FINE. SO THE BOTTOM LINE HERE IS IT IS NO XBOX THAT WILL SELF DESTRUCT FROM HEAT OVERLOAD SO THAT YOU HAVE TO BUY SOME SPECIAL NOISEY,LOUD FAN JUST TO PLAY.

Review:GET ONE ....PLAYSTATION RULES!!!!! NO HYPE HERE...THIS SYSTEM IS THAT GOOD AND IS GOING TO BE BETTER WITH THE AWESOME GAMES COMING OUT LATER. THE TWO MAIN REASON I BOUGHT THIS SYSTEM SO SOON IS FOR FINAL FANTASY XIII AND TEKKEN 6. THESE TWO GAMES ARE GOING TO BE OFF THE CHAIN. I AGREE WITH A LOT HERE THAT XBOX REALLY HAS SOME COOL TITLES BUT GIVE THIS SYSTEM AND INVESTMENT A YEAR OR LESS AND PS3 WILL BE EVEN MORE POPULAR THAN EVER WITH ITS OWN GAME WEBSITE AT FULL POWER. HAVE A NICE DAY FELLOW GAMERS AND ENJOY YOUR PS3.

ProsLove the new look. The 60G HDD gives it more storage capacity than the 20G. The extra $ is well worth buying this product. Comes with a Blu ray player another reason why this is worth buying. With sales up for BD over HD, you cant beat the extras that come with the PS3. Not to mention what you can do with a PSP. So far, it is a must own!
ConsAlthough the 60G is worth getting, the new XBOX 360 Elite beats the storage capacity by a long shot... 120G!!!! And its less pricey. $479 compared to the PS3 60G $599.

Review:I have to agree with most though, this is definitely a system that tops all others. And, I'm not saying this to make it seem like I'm a die hard Playstation fan. (Actually, I am). Since the good ol' days of the original Playstation, I don't think I'll ever change over to anything else.

ProsBest gaming machine out there unless you want to spend thousands on a PC.
Cheapest Blue-ray player on the market. Plus the player is great.
Can play PS2 and PS1 games and can save on internal memory if you want.
For those that own a psp you can download PS1 games and other content for the system online through the ps3.
A little more then the price you would pay for a XBox 360 with their optional HD-DVD drive.
Oblivion runs better on PS3 then XBox 360.
Tons of content on the way. Will dominate because of supperior hardware.
ConsA bit pricey.
Just starting out so there isnt a lot of games out for the system.

Review:This is the best gaming system period. Better then 360 and far better then Wii. Although 360 and Wii have their perks (and I looked them all over closely) PS3 is the all around entertainment machine.

Title: A Gamer Would Want No Less Date: April 20, 2007
Pros28% of Americans have HDTVs and this baby can produce an image in awe inspiring 1080p. From the touch-sensitve buttons to the latest version of HDMI port, it's sophistication doesn't go by unnoticed. The only true hi-def console, the Sony PS3 is unrivaled in terms of performance in the home console market. Controllers are bluetooth and don't require batteries. The Wi-fi connectivity is of insurmountable importance and you get the capacity of upto 50 gigabytes on a single dual-layer blu-ray disc. My motorola bluetooth headset is fully compatible. THE ONLINE SERVICE IS FREE!
ConsThe Price isn't very attractive but considering it includes an HD-Drive, a Blu-ray at that, and wireless connectiviy, both of which would add a cost of 300+ to the cost of an XBOX 360 and that's before you actually fork over more money to play online!! 70 bucks the 1st year and upwards of 50 every year thereafter. Throw in rechargeable batteries for at least 2 controllers and over a period of 5 years ur in the whole at least grand. The playstations price may be menacing but its worth when all the benefits are weighed. THE ONLY REAL CON IS THAT WE'D HAVE TO PAY LIKE 25 dollars for an HDMI cable because they aren't available in the box. Its a worthwile investment when u see how marvelous games and movies look.

Review:The Playstation 3 will be adding a feature called playstation home in the fall prompting the beginning in a wave of user created content across a communiy of gamers.
