ProsLeading edge, mid range card. I upgraded my card from ATI X 800 XT, the GPU speed and memory speed is improved though not blazingly so. I have seen an improvement on the range of about 15% on 3DMark 06 and PCPitstop video performance tests. This is on a Pentium 3.46 4 EE, 925XE chipset, 2GB DDR2 Ram, Raid 1 configuration. The Catalyst Center and video card driver updates are available on ATI.AMD's website and is a must. Indeed, the provided software disk is most likely out of date so save yourself some trouble and pre-download the Catalyst center off the web prior to install.
ConsNot the leap and bounds in performance I thought it would be. Surprisingly little increase in capability but the cost was not exhorbitant so this qualifies as a very good mid range card. If your looking for the bleeding edge gain in performance, look at the 512 MB or greater cards.
Review:On my XPS Gen 4 system, I was concerned about power supply needs especially running a Raid 1 configuration along with an additional hard drive. This turned out to be no problem at all and the card has performed well.
