Review:I purchased two 512 mb boards as recommended by the Dell site. I had been told by a tech that these would help my computer very much. Now what I know about computers could be written on the point of a ball pointpen. But with my owners manual,I was able to install them with no problem. My computer runs so much faster than it used to. I wish I had done this earlier. And the cost of this upgrade was very low. If your unit is running slow, get your manual and do it yourself.

Computer is much more responsive - a very inexpensive upgrade to a very good computer. My Dimension 4600 only had 256mb ram and it needed more memory. i purchased the two memory modules, my 17 year old grandson installed them in about 5 minutes, and it is like i have a new computer I LOVE DELL!!!

ProsInstall instructions were clear and easily accessible on the dell.com website. Worked immediately as soon as I installed it. No problems. My computer is running much faster now.
ConsPerhaps this is the fault of my Dell Dimension 4800, but I had to push a little hard to snap in the memory. I was afraid that I might break the motherboard, but it snapped in tightly and worked fine. It is easy to know if you have installed it correctly or not.

ProsOrdered on Saturday, shipped Monday and received on Wed. Since I've never opened up a computer before, I called tech support and literally took me less than 5 minutes to install. After reading the reviews, I thought it would really take some force to click into place but was relatively easy. I added two 512MB modules to my 4600 and feels like a new computer.

Cons1) Bad Sound 2) When connecting Headphones to the front of the speaker, the volume on the speaker needs to be turned to the Max for the sound to come out of the headphones. Don't forget it when unplugging headphones, you wll be blasting a low quality sound .
Review:"Dissapointed, I bought this pair to replace the orignal pair I got from Dell. The original pair had a cleaner,deeper sound than this telephone type sound speakers.

ProsSimple to install. Dell provides good instructions, including the online video demo. I had never done any work inside a computer before but was able to do the installation easily. Performance on my Dell 4600 has increased signficantly by adding two 512MB modules.

ProsWow !!............What a difference. When I bought my computer in '04, the sales rep told me that 256MB of RAM would be more than enough. I certainly hope he has moved on to another line of work. Put in 2-512MB Modules & am thinking about 2 more. If you own a Dim4600 with less than 1GB of RAM, you must do this upgrade. Installation is easy and the results will astound you. WOW !!!!!

ProsAwesome upgrade!! I have a 4600 model that had only 256mb of ram. I put in two 512mb cards for a 1g total. Much faster, like a new machine with little cost to upgrade. Easy to install, remember to push down with force and they will go right in. I just put them in yesterday, but I'm sure they will be reliable.
Cons-none-
Review:I'm thinking of getting two more to increase my power to 2g of ram. Remeber to put them in as pairs to get the full power from the memory. These run at a speed of 400mhz instead of my orginal 333mhz. I wish I would have done this a long time ago! You won't be disapointed with this upgrade, it's a must........upgrade!

ProsWish I had done this a while ago. Internet explorer was not functioning if I opened too many tabs, and took forever to lauch. My Internet explore not operates at hight speed. All the application load so much quicker.
ConsIt was a little trick to insert the RAM. There isn't much room and you need to use a little force to get the ram in the slots. Make sure you hear a click and the levers on the sides snap up.
Review:Definitely buy memory in pairs. I didn't know that with my daughter's computer so it never really utilized the increased ram now that I added the memory another card (so the increase was a pair). The computer is performin so much better.
