ProsBought it for the slide scanner function
Seems to have everything I need in a scanner
Sets up simply
Associated programs have not cause system problems
ConsImage quality is good, but not perfect
The software interface is not well organized: You go through one program to scan, but there are a number of other programs that are auxiliary. For example, the Canon program seems like it would be where one started to do a scan job, but it is not.

ReviewI am glad I bought it, but I traded some qualities for affordability.

Title: NIce piece of equipment for the price. Date: January 21, 2008
ProsIn the week following my purchace, I scanned in excess of 55o 35mm slides, a few dozen photographs, and a few miscellaneous hard copy. The scanner performed great. The software works nice for what I am doing. I did order up a second slide holder to speed up the process.
ConsIt is a little slow. But for what I am doing, that is not a problem. I did have difficulty finding a second slide holder. That process could be easier. After i made contact via email, dell was great about getting me one.

ReviewAfter I'm done using it, I am sending it to both my brother and sister to use.

ProsWorks well, great quality, works with vista, and is easy to us.
ConsDriver software comes with about 5 additional programs that probably are not needed. Also scanning function is kind of slow but it does produce good quality reproductions so I guess I can not complain to much.

Title: Scanner review Date: April 10, 2007
ProsSo far, the CanoScan 4400F has done everything I expected with no problems, including scanning slides with high enough resolution to produce very professional-looking prints on my Canon i560 printer. I have tried the copier and fax functions also. I must point out, however, that I only use the scanner occasionally, so have not given it a demanding workout. However, what I have tested has worked very well.
ConsHaven't found any yet because of very limited use.

ReviewThe product, at least so far, appears to provide excellent quality and functionality for the price. I selected a scanner rather than an all-in-one printer specifically because of the ability to scan slides, and am very happy with how that function works.

ProsOne of the few scanners for Vista. Allows multiple pictures to be scanned at the same time. PDF allows for multiple pages.
ConsStill says it has some compatibility issues with Vista. The software for PDF doesn't allow for adjusting scan quality of the individual PDF pages, although all the ones I scanned came out fine with the automatic adjustments.
