ProsI bought to set of these speaker from Dell. Fantastic sound. Music, movies, and games all sound great on these speakers. Easily hooks up to computer, dvd player, and game console simultaneously! ProsCrisp highs, deep bass, plenty of speaker wire to accommodate any size room. Many input options, decent warranty and documentation. ConsCan't really fill a large room with sound, but this isn't a real con since that isn't what they were designed for in the first place.
Review:I got a great deal on these through Dell at around 25% off the prices elsewhere. Had these been $300 I probably would not have given them 5 stars for value. However if you don't want to compromise with your PC sound and would rather not spend $500-600 for a decent receiver/speaker combo then you can't really do much better than this.

ProsExcellent sound with a digital cable after tweaking equalizers.
Excels in movies when using a media player and DVD supporting the DTS audio codec. Loud subwoofer when placed right. Does not seem to distort with volume turned up. Removable grills make the speakers looks very pretty. All speaker settings are adjustable from both the control panel and the remote. ConsSubwoofer throws the bass across the room - at first I could barely hear it under my desk, I thought it was broken, then I stepped about 5 feet back and realized the whole room was shaking and it was very loud.
Subwoofer is good, but could have tightened sound.
Ideally you want to place the sub in front of you to the right of the right front speaker, or left of the left facing you. With the proprietary 3ft cord distance between the volume control panel to the sub, placement options are a little limited, but fine under most circumstances.
I'm enjoying them so much I'm worried they'll make me deaf.
Review:Used with a Razer Barracuda Sound Card Optical output.
Amazing sound in Minority Report using DTS.
Speaker placement is important for the optimal experience.

ProsThese speakers will rock the juke box! Can only turn them up about half way. The sound quality is great, and the bass is good too. The speakers are a hidden gem for the price. A great buy!! ConsI think the display tower is a little big.

ProsLove the desktop volume knob,the real sound is hidden at max volume you hit the boost level then you can jam man!!! ConsBoost level hidden at max volume spot then you have to turn more,not really a con since it is there but what the heck.

ProsI still have a hard time believing that a system sounding this good was developed for computer systems. Bass you can feel, crystal clear highs, distinguishable mid tones all in an attractive package make these the must have speakers for audiophiles, gamers, and home theater buffs alike. Packing a punch (probably too much power for anyone's room, but ain't that cool!?!) but without distorting the quality audio. I will recommend no other. ConsA little, and I mean just a smidge, on the pricey side but Dell had the best price to be found (and I was watching prices for weeks) and well worth the smidge.

Prossound quality is great even with on board sound. these spkrs will blow away even a $1000 Bose 5.1 system out the door. Bass goes really low jus gotta tweak the equalizer settings in ur media player. 10inch monster on the floor is crazyyy shakes my room when volume is at only three four bars high.. goes really loud. ConsControl center gets hot at the top.
Review:if your looking for home theater quality speaker system this is it! at under $300 come on you cant go wrong.

ProsLogitech's got a great product here. These replaced my Altec Lansing 295s, which are old (circa 1997) but still crank and sound really good for a 2.1 system. I read all the reviews on various sites before I purchased these for a new Dell PC that had a TV Tuner, etc. I hooked these up, and was glad to see that the reviews weren't hyped up. They sound crisp and clean, and deliver with a confident power. Even at low volumes the bass lets you know it's ready to pump. ConsI wish it would automatically power off when I shut down the PC, but it's not really a big deal. I had to power off my other speakers too.

Review:Being familiar with Logitech speakers, (I have two sets of 560's, and a set of 2200's) I bought the 5500's expecting to be blown away by the sheer volume and clarity. Sadly, this is not the case. First, they are connected to a USB audio system (M-audio's Sonica Theater) through what Logitech calls direct mode (analog). With all the mixer faders at maximum, the level (SPL) achieved is unremarkable. Another disapointment is the sloppy, uncontrolled sound coming from the woofer. I realize that the box is ported for efficiency and small size, but I’ve heard better from ported systems. In fact, it seems to me that the 560’s produce a more controlled low end and sound better when reproducing music. Next, I used the coaxial digital input through the Sonica Theater and was pleased that the level came up dramatically, as did the clarity. Still, it seems as if there’s more untapped power even with the volume maxed. Connecting the coaxial digital to a DVD player playing Pink Floyd’s 1994 concert “Pulse”, I was again left wanting more! Scottie! We need more drive!... The imaging seems adequate -- mid’s and highs are there, but upper bass seems a bit thin. I won’t dwell on the lows. To be fair, it’s entirely possible that the 5500’s would be a blast (literally) in games and movie tracks. But as to music (my purpose), I’m left wanting.

ProsFirst of all when I received the product, I was surprised how hefty the box was! The quality of finish is very nice for any caliber of environment, but more importantly the sound really exceeded my expectations. This system is also fine for a stand alone surround sound system for home theater. I am so conviced after playing with all of the various modes, that I just ordered a second system for my living room! The bass is more than adequate, it delivers crisp highs in all four corners, and vocals come through as dominant as you want them with the adjustable levels on the center channel. In addition, the cables are long enough for good separation of all of the speakers. I've heard better sonic quality in speakers, but only with much more expensive units. Great system, even at twice the price! The control unit is really great and the remote makes it very accessable. ConsThe cord on the control unit could be longer by at least a few feet to allow better placement of the sub, since you don't want it anywhere near your screen or PC. There is a warning posted right on top of the unit because of the strong magnets inside.
Review:It will be interesting to see if Logitech comes out with a system geared more towards the audiophile crowd. They're not too far off wlith this one.

ProsEasy to use interface, controls, easy setup (color coated), and LOUD when you want them to be. 5.1 is awesome running from my onboard audio, have my CABLE SET TOP BOX hooked up w/ the optical cable...HDTV is a whole lot better w/ these babies hooked up. Bass is strong and can be controlled via settings. Perfect for regular TV or when you are Partying with friends. No sound distortion just plain clarity. No BOSE system, but comparable and price is worth it! ConsHEAVY HEAVY HEAVY SUB!! THe control Center cant be too far from the subwoofer. Recommend getting better speaker cables though, although the ones supplied are sufficient, and extra long for those hard to reach areas.
Review:If you're looking for a budget sound system that can provide 5.1 surround, this is it. DOnt go spending more than these are worth! Unless of course you are a super tech guru and you just NEED to satisfy your audiophile ways with expensive equipment. Otherwise, for most average users this is it!

ProsVery good system that does quite well over the whole audio spectrum. Ability to decode Dolby Digital, and DTS! Nice remote and lots of audio inputs so you can hook up many different sources and easily switch between them all. This means you don't necessarily have to use it for a computer. It works great as a home theater setup. Compares admirably against a much more expensive audio setup I have. ConsA little lacking in some midrange but that's to be expected since it's just satellites and a sub. The sub can sometimes be very overpowering.
Review:You can adjust all the levels of the surrounds, fronts, sub, and center so you can keep the sub's volume levels in check. The sub can go almost as low as much nicer, $400 subs that you can buy. Definitely a must have setup for a casual and inexpensive home theater setup.

Pros1. Ability to get extremely loud 2. Doesn't distort at high volumes 3. Great bass 4. Works with optical/coax/analog inputs 5. Great packing for speakers and sub 6. Control Unit Dolby Processing 7. Speaker wire instead of RCA jack improves versatility. Cons1. Doesn't include coax/optical cables, but most people have these anyways. 2. Length of connection cable between subwoofer and control unit somewhat short.
Review:It's a heavy box (60 lbs), but the sheer size of the box makes it harder to move alone. Easily moved with a second person or a dolly.
ProsGreat theater qualty sound! Great if you really in to listening to music. I love how they can take different audio sorces. Cons- When listening to radio on windows MC there was a popping sound.

ProsUnless these are used in a large room you won't even need to think about full volume. Amazing sound, amazing quality. Put on a dvd where there is a gunshot or some kind of explosion, then crank the subwoofer up to full volume and then tell me how bug the thump on your chest was. You will not be dissapointed, this more than serves the purpose of a surround sound system for gaming and home entertainment systems, ConsIf I had to be picky it would be that the subwoofer box is huge (kinda knew that though) and the control pod thing is actually quite large, not really the size of an Ipod, a bit larger.
Review:Surround sound is a wonderful experience is gaming and movies. Don't know how I ever lived without it. Stop reading these reviews and click buy.
