ProsI bought 2 of the 1525 laptops in different colors, which arrived together. With 2 teenagers breathing down my neck to use them, I quickly had them set up and going right out of the box. Figured everything out without having to look at a manual, even the wireless setup, that's how easy it was.
ConsNothing other than the fact that it is pretty big if you plan on bringing it places, but on the other hand, for teenagers, seems very solid.

Review:I was a bit skeptical of the Windows Vista operating system never having used anything but XP, but had no problem at all with it. I investigated alot of different laptops for several months and was happy we ended up with these.

ProsIt is so easy to customize and use. Downloads are fast and simple.
ConsIt is a little heavier than I would have liked. Thus, I will not be taking this to school with me very often. I already received error messages when emptying the recycle bin within the first week. Also, the color turned out much darker than was depicted on the website.

ProsReasonable priced laptop that meets the needs of home computing for adults and teenagers. Son liked the street graphics on exterior.
ConsI wish a 2 year warranty came with the purchase. Also, who wants Microsoft Works??? Microsoft Office Home and Student would be a better base product.

Review:We should get something free for buying 5 laptops in a short period of time...one for my husband, a purple one for me, two for daughters and the recent one for my son. Dell can help pay for my oldest daughter's college tuition....she would be a great spokeswoman!! She takes her laptop with her everywhere!!

ConsCannot play BluRays, need several software updates and hours' worth of calls to Dell Support to try to get it fixed. As of this writing, I still cannot watch Blurays on my laptop. What's the point?

ProsThis is the first lap top I have ever had and I love it for its lightness in carrying it around and the fact that it is easy to use. I find transferring over to the Vista program has not been too difficult for someone who still has a ways to go to become computer literate. This is perfect for those who do NOT want alot of bells and whistles and uses a computer primarily for e-mail, the Internet and Microsoft Office Programs.

ProsGreat little computer for the price. Bought it for my wife and everything works well with one exception.
ConsApparently a poor wireless card. I got yhr Dell 1505N wireless and it never gets more than 3 bars, even in the same room as the router, and it constantly disconnects and reconnects. Yet My Studio 17 almost always has 3 to 4 bars with excellent speed. Why couldn't I get the same wireless cards for both. It has the Dell wireless 1397N card.

ProsIt was a Christmas present and it arrived on Christmas eve.
ConsIt didn't work very well out of the box and only got worse from there.

Review:They put in a new motherboard and still did not work so they ordered a new laptop and it was supposed to be delivered by 1/17/09. It's 8:30 Mon. night, 1/19/09 and still no laptop. We will probably send it back for a refund. We have lost all confidence in your product.

ProsIt was smaller than my 17" dell.
ConsI could not figure it out and i really had a hard time setting it up. i only use it for bill payments and checking e-mail. i just received it in the mail after waiting 3-4 weeks. and it said 2 day shipping. i have used this computer about 10 times and it is already not working i think this is not worth what i payed for it!

Review:i am very disappointed and am going to try to return it as soon as i can.
