Review:We brought 3 x laptops Nov 08 for our kids (primary school age) for Xmas pressys, very happy with product. Blue Red and Pink. son constantly uses his and seems to be 8yr old boy proof. performance is good, battery life is a bit of a let down though, doesn't last long. Screen goes dark when on battery but able to fix this through adjusting the battery performance settings, all ok. Unit slightly heavy also. but overall - greta product. would recommend for a general laptop.

Title: Great for a student Date: April 25, 2009
ProsI love that my parents bought be this laptop... I'm a junior in college and it's great. It has everything I need and does everything I need it to do. Of course with technology, it has its downfalls though.
ConsIt seems to overheat a lot and shut down. The touch volume is slightly annoying sometimes... I feel like the old way was easier at times. Like I read on another review, it's reboot is weird. If you ask it to sleep, it will have a screen telling you that the reboot messed up... sorry I don't know the technical term. I'm trying to find out if the overheating happens in others or not because other than that its a great computer.

Title: poor computer Date: April 25, 2009
Prosi purchased this notebook since i am a teacher last year; it worked well for about a year (up until the time the warranty ran out); now this computer crashed and i lost all of my lesson plans and grades (i had them backed up, so i was able to retrieve them); Dell computers , i have noticed, tend to crash and burn right after the warranty expires; this is my third dell product and will probably be my last one;

Title: Made the Switch to PC Date: April 21, 2009
ProsI loved my Mac laptop and did a lot of research before purchasing my Dell. I made the switch to PC because of price. I love my Inspiron 1525. I needed to replace my AC adapter Sunday and called customer service. I was pleasantly surprised by the great service and while a "Diagnostic Test" was being run to make sure everything else was okay, my service rep. said, "This will take alittle bit so let's talk weather." I laughed and said, "Where are you?" She said, "Guess." I said, "India?" She replied, "Good guess. Yes." We chatted until the test was complete and all was good. My adapter arrived today (Tuesday by FedEx) so I'm charged again. To get the same stuff on a Mac I would have had to spend 2X as much. Thanks Dell.
ConsBattery life. I'm usually plugged in so this isn't a problem for me but I would recommend an additional battery.

Review:I recommend purchasing a warrenty. I recommend this on everything these days. I recently replaced a top of the line washer and vacuumm cleaner. Top or the line has lost its meaning in today's world. Get the features you need and spend money on service/replacement contracts. Believe me, it's worth it.

ProsOverall a great value for a feature packed Laptop. I dressed this thing up nicely and still came in way <$1K
ConsBluetooth mouse/keyboard connectivity is intermittently problematic. Not sure yet though if it's hardware related, driver related...or just another Vista quirk to keep my mind active.

Review:I have not even contacted Dell yet about the Bluetooth problem so I can't say anything bad about them. Overall the Laptop, the purchase, and delivery is/was silky smooth and I highly recommend.

Review:Very easy to use and set up. Good for surfing and watching videos and dvds. Would definately recommend and would choose to buy again in the future.
I think the only negative is the battery life, to start with its fine but as the months go on I'm having to recharge more frequently now.

Review:I chose the Inspiron as a laptop for my daughter to complete her A levels and take to university. Review:I am dissappointed with the laptop for the price I paid. One it was quite heavy to carry around, two the mother board had to be changed, three I had to have the charger replaced twice and the new one is playing up as well and four the frame of the laptop is not very sturdy and has a crack and it was not covered by Dells warranty. If I had known they where like this I would not of bought one and would of gone elsewhere. Which I am dissappointed because usually Dell and their products are very good. Maybe I just got a lemon, I do not know. Now I have a laptop that is only just over one years old and I can not use it.

Title: Always satisfied with Dell Date: April 15, 2009
ProsProduct is great and reliable. I tried several other brands like Acer, Sony but by far Dell has been the best for laptops and desktops. I always recommended Dell to everyone I know. I have bought 4-5 desktops from them and 3 laptops and they are all great. At work I use Dell and the laptop is really great and free of problems. Very reliable.
ConsNot too many. i wish that they would create a custom CD with the drivers for my system only rather than a generic driver CD. But then again you can login into the account and anways download them.

Review:I dithered over buying the Inspiron 1525 or the Studio 15, but chose the former because it came with extra RAM and higher FSB rating on the processor for the same price. I really wanted a white one, but Dell 'had none left', which I don't understand considering they make them to order. Colour is unimportant when discussing performance of course, but colour can be a deciding factor for some, especially as I was left with only a horrible pink, garish red.... or blue, which I chose. Actually, the blue looks quite stylish, being darker than the photo suggested.

I was hesitant about using Windows Vista, but wasn't willing to pay the extra for XP. So far I have been pleasantly surprised, although it has taken a little adjusting to get used to it.

I have not so far experienced problems reported by others with this model, such as the DVD-ROM door popping open without warning, or the mouse pad overheating, though it does get a little warm after a while. I ordered the sound card upgrade, so don't really have a huge problem with the sound or speakers as so many others have had, although volume levels and speaker quality are still not as high as I'd like. I find that plugging in a headphone to watch a movie improves sound quality and volume by quite a lot.

I'm really happy with the overall performance of this laptop. With 3 gb of RAM and dual-core processor (2.0GHz, 1MB Cache, 800 MHz FSB) it can handle many applications being open at once, something I've always had trouble with in the past. I have used it for watching DVDs and it plays them perfectly, with an excellent picture.

Although I am regretting not choosing the bluetooth option, I am happy with the unit I ordered and doubt I will need to upgrade for a couple of years at least.

The only real downside I have experienced so far is that the battery doesn't last nearly as long as I think it should, but as a first-time laptop user, my expectations in this respect were probably way too high!

Overall, I believe that for just on $1000 AUD, I got great bang for my buck.
