Review:I bought my Dell a year ago April and have had nothing but trouble with it, replaced several parts, memory and 3 hard drives and instead of sending me a replacement computer since my was certainly defective, I was given the run around until my warrenty expired and find out from the Geek Squad it was a bad Mother Board all along, the price to replace? The cost of a new computer, Thanks Dell.

Review:The only thing i have to comment about is that is is very sensitive with mouse. If you don move it away from leter or anythinf it will auto print that item Other than that i like it very well and would rwecomment it tro any one. I tghought that it came with wireless router built in. I thought that the sales person said that it did.I Had to go out and but router to connect to internet. If any way possible that you can send router that can be used any where. I hope it would install in computer. Please advise.

Title: Computer is better than average, but...
Date: August 16, 2009
Product Uses: e-mails, surfing the net for all kinds of things
Review:2 problems--
I really don't like the windows vista program because it automatically takes control of the computer (no matter what you might be working on) to do windows updates - downloads without asking and restarts your computer. I have already lost things I was working on.
Also the battery never lasted more than 3 1/2 hours (6-cell battery). I'm lucky after 6 months of use to get 2+ hours.

Title: Disappointed
Date: August 9, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, Finances
Review:I have owned two Dell's in the past so I was excited to get this laptop from my boyfriend for my birthday. It has been such a disappointment, the touch pad has a mind of it's own I can't type a sentence without the cusor moving or highlighting another area, I can't tell you how many emails have been sent while I was typing them. Also I am not sure if it is vista or what but often when I shut down and there are updates to load I come back to turn on my computer the next day and it will still be installing updates. Also it has shut down on me several times. I am glad he bought it a place with a 6 month return policy, this thing is going back it is not worth the frustration!

Review:I just love me new Inspiron 15. It's compact, and extremely fast. It came with everything that I wanted. Everything about it was customizable even the graphics for the front. I chose "Sea Sky" by Mike Ming, such beautiful design. At a great price too!!

Title: A few Glitches
Date: July 1, 2009
Product Uses: School
Review:I would sincerely like to report total satisfaction with my Dell Inspiron laptop. Other than several glitches with the Vista system I was especially happy with the mobility of my laptop. Seeing that I'm an on-line college student looking forward to a near future degree in Communications this, I thought, was just the product for me. However, this sentiment didn't even last through my second semester when my Dell laptop would no longer boot up. After examination by a computer technician, it was determined that the motherboard was shot. And this, not even 5 months after my one year warranty expired, has caused me much disappointment. Trying to put 2 children and myself through college is a very expensive endeavor and now Dell's technicians are telling me it will cost me several hundred dollars to fix my Dell laptop - that's the cost of one of my classes with books! I purchased a Dell laptop in good faith that it would get me through my time in college and now I have to go through the frustration of having it fixed or replacing it, both expensive. The sad thing is that the computer looks brand new, as I've taken excellent care of it - I mean I school at home and it stays on my desk, not carried and jostled around a campus or commuted with. At this point, I don't know what to do. I was hoping Dell and I could come to a satisfactory solution - like at least gauranteeing their parts for another year after they repair it or something - a 3 month warranty on repair and parts is pitiful if Dell in fact, has excellent parts and repair service. It seems that I'm one of the unfortunate ones who received a faulty mother board, while other consumers received a good one, so I'm the one who has to pay. I wish I had a better review to write, but the truth is the truth. Now me, my family, and anyone I share my Dell laptop story with wants nothing to do with a Dell - I wish it didn't have to be this way. RCD

Title: hardware not compatible with windows
Date: June 23, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends
Review:I ordered this computer with the assumption tthat it would come with windows OS. But it turned out that it came with Ubuntu. Ubuntu? i have never heard of that name before. So i tried to install windows XP on it myself. It kept giving me the error blue screen when i tried to install XP. Specifically indicating hardware problem thus prevent the installation to go forward. Dell would nto recognize this as an issue and i would have to pay 15% restocking fee. Obvioulsly they are using cheap hardware with a cheap OS.

Title: Best Company

Review:I was not sure who to contact concerning a product compliment so I hope this finds its way to the highest possible level. I bought my Dell inspiron in febuary of 2005 and was told that I might get three good years from it. After a year long tour in Korea, a fourteen month long deployment in Iraq (where it was dropped three times, suffered through countless sand storms and lost a few keys) I am still getting the same quality over four years later. I want to make sure people know that Dell is worth every penny and is unsurpassed in quality and customer service. Thank you Sincerely, Tyler Gately

Title: Inspiron 1525 Hinges
Date: June 11, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, Travel, Music & Movies
Review:Performance wise, this computer was a good buy. Durability, however, is another story. After not even a year of use, the hinges started to fail. As of now, one corner of the LCD cover has completely cracked. The cover, hinges, and bezel are going to have to be replaced. I did some research on the internet and this appears to be a very common problem(very cheap and flimsy design). Still waiting to see how much this repair is going to set me back. You may want to consider an extended warranty when buying this computer. I will NOT buy another one.

Title: Wasted my money
Date: June 5, 2009
Product Uses: would like to do all those things if i could
Review:Biggest waste of money I have ever spent on a product and their customer service is just as bad. They say USA? Yeah right, every person you get is from a foreign country. Whoever is considering buying from Dell, I strongly encourage you to change your mind. Nothing but problems since I bought it in 2008, now my warranty is expired with what they so call a warranty.

Title: Solid as Always, With a Few Quirks
Date: May 29, 2009
Product Uses: Music & Movies, Presentation, work - word processing
Review:I've owned an Inspiron since 2001. I wrote a dissertation on the last one -- replacing the keyboard twice. My new one is more solid than the last -- more metal exterior instead of plastic. The system seems fast enough (I upgraded the processor), and Vista hasn't given me trouble. The touch pad doesn't work as well as my previous one. Response is sluggish while sliding my finger around, and tapping the touch pad often gets no response. The keyboard is also a little more sluggish, which slows my typing speed a little. Other than that, I'm a happy camper. Oh, and the black exterior shows fingerprints and oil and dirt easily. No big whip.
