Title: very nice computer
Date: May 13, 2009
Product Uses: Video Editing, Music & Movies
Review:So far so good, I would like it to be a little lighter, but it's ok. Haven't traveled with it yet and am still getting use to it and all that it can do. Got it mostly for pictures. Vista hasn't been a problem for me, I kinda like it. Still trying to learn about wireless networking and all that. All and all I think it's great, but I haven't had it that long.

Title: Solid notebook with great performance.
Date: May 13, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, Video Editing, Travel, Music & Movies, School
Review:I purchased this notebook as a college graduation gift for my brother. I have been checking in on him regularly and he could not be happier. Everything ran perfectly out of the box and the LED-backlight screen is awesome. No complaints about heat and he uses it pretty heavily. The size and design are great and we could not beat the price.
I am now eyeing the studio xps line for myself, I really like the direction Dell is going with their laptop lines. Price to Performance has always been good with Dell for me but now it feels like they are really considering the small details / design stuff that counts.

Review:This laptop has far exceeded my expectations. It has excellent graphics, the processor speed is such that I am able to run high level games with beautiful graphics rendering, without hangups, or choppy video. Vista is very user friendly. The compact design makes it easy to transport. Overall, I would buy another, and would highly recommend to anyone.

Review:The XPS M1530 was a excellent purchase for me. Before I was using an ancient Dell Inspiron that had like a 28GB hardrive and only like 256RAM so for me it was like going from a Kia to a BMW. I absolutetly love it. The screen is amazing and the touch buttons are cool. The fingerprint reader is pretty sweet. It feels pretty cool when you could swipe your finger to log in to your computer. It has all the necesary ports and is great for travel. I love all the little features available. Yes all the hardware, the operating system and the software is excellent but its the little features that get me. Im not one to read manuals so when Im fooling around on the laptop and discover a new little quirk its like finding buried treasurer. All around I love the laptop. It is the best investment I've made and its great in a college and home atmosphere.

Title: Extremely Satisfied

ProsWorks really fast, setup was super easy, and fingerprint scanner works great. ConsNot as much battery life as i had anticipated and sometimes the mousepad lags, but a right click seems to fix that every time. I have to hold it down when I open it or it will bring the whole laptop off the desk.
Review:I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good laptop, even for gaming.

Prosthis computer is a good computer. It is fast and you definetly needs to know what you are doing. I have had this XPS 1530 for about 5 months now and I like it. Now I am going to talk about the Windows vista. I cannot wait until Microsoft windows 7 comes out. But outside of that the system itself is a good one. I think the XPS 1730 is better due to the 64 bit option but the 1530 is still good not bad for the 32 bit system and make sure you get the 4 GB of ddr Ram. Consthe battery doesn't last too very long. You need to buy a litheum extended battery. Windows Vista junk, but dell has no control over the operating system. Like I said above on the pro's I cannot wait until Microsoft comes out with the operating system 7.

ProsI have been using this one for nearly three months. I like the design. It is professionally designed, light weighed and much better than my previous XPS. I am not that satisfied with the processor performance. With a core duo T6600@ 2.20GhZ, I was expecting it to work a lot faster. Vista 64 bit is a pain, as lot of softwares did not release their support version yet. The key board is really troubling. For a high end machine like this, they could provide a better key board. Over all, it is a good bargain. ConsKey Board.

Title: In Dell I trust
Date: May 2, 2009
Product Uses: Connecting with Friends, Travel, Music & Movies, School, Presentation
Review:Being a Dell slim desktop owner for the past 8 years, I had no qualms of selecting Dell again for my laptop purchase.
I got an XPS M1530 two weeks ago and here's my experience with it so far:
Performance: Windows Vista runs just fine on the XPS without any lag so far. Have yet to encounter any problem multitasking. Only downside about it is the heat. Just like any other laptop, this model gets hot rather quickly. But nothing can't be solved with the help of an external cooler.
Design: Personally, I feel that the XPS is one of the best looking laptops in the market. My only complaint is the finishing touch of the battery panel. It's somewhat loose when I got it, (it'd be good if Dell could get it fixed for me) otherwise I would've termed it perfect.
Value: I feel that the XPS delivers in terms of utility per dollar since I benefited from the instant cash redemption offer. I think it only gets better when I need to call upon their customer service. That's one of the main reasons why I chose Dell anyway.
Overall: If you want a good looking laptop complemented with good features, this should be included in your list. Something that you can be proud of.

ProsLight weight Powerful Nice design ConsFan on bottom of chassis that can be blocked when using on your lap. This defeats the purpose of a LAPTOP. Battery is weak.
Review:Although it is lightweight, it could be thinner. The battery doesn't last long either.

ProsIt is very easy to use. This the first laptop that I have used. Very fast. ConsGetting used to using Windows Vista. Too many drill downs to find folders etc. Very different than Windows XP. To some it may not be that way but I find it takes too long to find things.

Title: 64-bit not for me
Date: April 29, 2009
ProsWell designed and featured laptop with a very solid feel and good performance. Cons64-bit Vista did not work with some key pieces of my software, despite the fact the Microsoft's compatibility site said they were compatible. I have "downgraded" to 32-bit Vista and everything now works A-OK!
Heavy with the 9-cell battery, but great battery life!
Review:Great service on getting the software for the Vista reinstall.

Title: Great laptop Overall
Date: April 29, 2009
ProsExcellent performance from Vista SP1 x64. Very lightweight, LED screen is beautiful, aluminum shell is very attractive, great price, runs cool most of the time. Excellent wireless performance, even using G. ConsBlu Ray software was broken right out of the box, as I was unable to play new movies (Dark Knight, Quantum of Solace). Calls to tech support told me that they could give me a reinstall disk of the same version number of Media Direct. That did not work. The software refuses to update itself so that new Blu Ray keys can be obtained. Also, the burn speed of the drive seems to be really poor. My discs are rated at 52x CD-R's, but they will not burn any faster than 8x. This is using either Nero 8 or Roxio 10.2.
Review:Even despite my cons listed above, I still love this laptop. Hopefully someone reading this will be able to help with the Blu Ray software problem.
